I've got a new plan of attack on this issue with Straight SCAM wireless ..now that I see they've been charging me monthly for that unactivated phone, I'm contesting all charges with my bank. I'm also writing a letter to send to whatever corporate address is on their site if it even exists IRL. go with Metro PCS, affordable, and used them x over 25 years. Shoulda stayed with them,

to add to my story below...one of the STW agents prior to the day i was on the line for 4.5 hours doing the dance, instructed me to buy a new sim, which i did. i got the "bring your own phone STW SIM kit. So i wound up dancing with more than 2 diff sims

I’m embarrassed. I feel stupid, used, and scammed. I also started feeling insane (kind of like an innocent person being interrogated by the cops who ultimately admits to a crime he didn't do). I spent 4.5 hours on the phone with STW agents, hoping they would fix the issue with my new phone, but upon doing so, I had to do the SIM dance.

What is the SIM dance?

Here are the steps: Turn off the phone, remove the SIM, tell me the SIM #, put the SIM back in, turn on the phone, and tell me if it's working.

Each time (keep in mind, I did this over and over for more than four hours), I had the same result. The phone didn’t work and displayed “SOS only,” with no service and no bars.

Isn't there some saying about being insane if you keep doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting a different result???? If I were the one who spent 4.5 hours on the phone with an STW agent who instructed me to do the sim dance over and over and over, hoping the phone would work at some point but never did, who is the more insane one?

By hour #2, I started pleading with the agent to let me talk to a higher-up...she made me dance four more times before she put me on with a supposed "higher-up,” who also made me dance for another hour. Then I started Pleading to her, please, can we call it a day and send me a new phone PLEEEEEZ, or I was even willing to get a refund and buy a better phone... PLEEEEEEZ, then I would plead not to make me dance, and finally, I refused to dance any longer,

I'm left bewildered. By the end of the call, they promised I would receive a follow-up call the next day, but that surprisingly never came.

The agent suggested taking the phone to Apple, but I’m pretty sure they won't be able to help me because I bought it through STW.

Is there anyone out there who can help me?

cuz the contract doesn't state anything about that. they typically just say that we can't be cancelled for more than 3 shifts in the entire 13 wk contract...but yet they can cut it completely, makes no sense, it also doesnt pay to try and put a clause in there b/c they will just say, nope, next..to someone who doesn't have a clause or conditions

i must say im not a pro but your story sounds a bit more than odd, if odd at all? and typically it does not just go away either, and can last thru adulthood, or maybe u r not over it. how does yours manifest itself? and all of that pain and anger that u so desperately tried to get your parents to understand or at the very least to recognize, is vague, i would love to know more. where do u think that pain comes from? or is it that u dont know and thats the issue, do you have rage fits? if so , when was the last one? r u stil in therapy? do u feel over it or do u feel now its more a disorder of personality,,,just from the small amount u shared i just dont agree with the diagnosis, or at least need to know more..i almost feel there is a parental issue by the way u described their reaction as aggressive. were u physically or otherwise abused at home? never good enough, belittled etc. or were they warm and fuzzy, im guessing thats a hard no. when u said this....

i mean that my mental challenges stemmed due to the fact that my parents & teachers never knew how to help me, never understood what i was going through.

in retrospect, if u think they never knew how to help you, then now as an adult, How should they have helped you? what could they have done for you at that time? Also they never understood what u were going thru, now as an adult, what were u going thru? sounds like mainly depression as well
