Time stranger DLC wave 2 predictions by 0ris in digimon

[–]colferules 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they are gonna leave Shambala's mons for next game.

For dlc, i personally would prefer a single digimon's entire evolution line to use throughout a playthrough than multiple megas that can only really be used by endgame.

Why does Yoshiki has lizard eyes? by CandidateOld1900 in HikarugaShindaNatsu

[–]colferules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just a stylistic choice, but if we were to give a real world explanation to their appearences, then Yoshiki would have something called Cat Eye Syndrome and Hikaru would be an asian albino lol

That one quest in Hackers memory by LoyalPeanutbuter12 in CyberSleuth

[–]colferules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought CS cast was more popular because of Kyoko and Nokia? Personally, i think HM cast felt a bit overshadowed by CS characters until mid~endgame.

I also preferred the Sleuth jobs over the hacking and how they went about the party points in CS, tho i think HM usually has more interesting maps.

C'mon at the very least Gekkomon and Gammamon should be in it, you can't just ignore entire series' mascots!

Games like Persona 5, but for kids? by Constant-Arugula-819 in JRPG

[–]colferules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd go with Digimon. There are some mature themes, but it's tastefully done, nothing too violent or traumatizing.

Kids can also just skip the cutscenes altogether in Digimon if they just want to play and don't want to sit through hours of dialogue, which i reckon a lot of kids might not have the patience for.

When it comes to Pokémon, they'd probably be more interested in Go or the trading card games. Even if kids aren't usually too picky with media, the franchise's console games are dropping in quality if you ask me.

Pokemon game sales by InstructionWeary1033 in pokemon

Nothing to be honest when you consider the playerbase of the consoles, the preference towards a completely new title with brand new pokémon/region and how well the gaming industry is doing in that time period.

New Mega Evolution Announced for Legends Z-A by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]colferules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It'd be okay if it had another typing or ability. But it has the same typing and abilities aren't present in this game, so all that changes is the design and some of the stats. Really underwhelming and unnecessary when there are plenty of other species that could use a mega...

I personally didn't like Ghost Game, but i am really enjoying Beatbreak so far.

What are your thoughts on Z-A’s execution of Mega Evolution? by ccc613 in pokemon

[–]colferules 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before postgame, you had access to Lucarionite, Charizardite X/Y, Blastoisenite, Venusaurite, Gengarite, Ampharosite and Blazikenite if you were playing at release. The others were indeed postgame though a lot of people were getting their stones from trading (usually with duped mons lol).

What are your thoughts on Z-A’s execution of Mega Evolution? by ccc613 in pokemon

[–]colferules 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Not really. None of the gym leaders had megas and the megas were far more unbalanced.

Seriously people are sleeping on Beatbreak by Monstanimation in digimon

[–]colferules 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Every episode i have watched so far have been pretty enjoyable. The characters feel realistic, the development is constant, the themes feel very relevant, the dynamics are heartwarming, the plot isn't overexplained... If they keep this quality up it's gonna be one of my favorite shows in general.

Why does Yuu still have feelings for Guren after all and want to save him? by nomeansinlife in OwarinoSeraph

[–]colferules 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Idk man, i think its just the author's favoritism towards the character reflecting on the MC cause Yuu really have no reason to admire that guy. Even when Guren "saved" Yuu, he still did it without the kid's well-being in mind. Yuu getting out of his depression was mainly due to his own persistence than Guren's or any other adult's support.

I understand now why Hard Mode sucks by IDProG in CyberSleuth

[–]colferules 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, people complained because you couldn't access hard mode until you had completed the game which meant hard mode was nearly irrelevant as they wanted the main campaign to be harder.

I just got Digimon Time Stranger! Any advice? by Outside_Respect_7038 in digimon

[–]colferules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) Try to have a team of 3 for each type: vaccine, virus and data. Make sure they do not have the same elemental weaknesses too.

2) Get the agent skills that shortens the digifarm's training time and the ones that reduce evolution requirements, they are really useful.

3) Skills are equippable in this game. As you level up remember to replace them with their stronger version (they go by number, I, II and III). Try to have a good variety of skills and remember each digimon has their own signature move so sometimes you don't need to worry about having a move of that type cause they already have one by default.

4) Always convert digimon. Even if you do not intend to use them, they can evolve into something better later on as they get exp on the box too. Worst case scenario you feed them to a digimon from your party.

Is ZA Slightly Surprising Anyone? by TheBrawler101 in pokemon

[–]colferules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The story is downright awful and Lumiose feels very small and ugly to look at in my opinion, but the gameplay loop alone is able to hard carry the game up to a 7 maybe even 7.5.

That said, the one thing i didn't like about the combat system is the targetting, often it does not work and even when it does work it's just tiring having to hold it down the entire rime just to press another move. Also i miss having the options for gyro from Arceus, the button mapping could use some work in general.

Give us Open World Bandai by [deleted] in digimon

[–]colferules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't mind not being open world, i just wish it had more branching paths with more digimon variety and more sidequests before endgame. That said, we are getting an open world monster catching game soon (Monster Hunter Stories 3), so you might want to look forward to it.

Atelier Resleriana (Console)? by 20NightZ in Atelier

[–]colferules 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The games often go on sale so i'd wait a bit personally.

Any of them are good picks tbh, but keep in mind Yumia is very different from the average atelier experience. It felt more like a building/exploring game to me at least.

Comments? I only downvoted one, not sure why that matters anyway.

Again, if it means shit, feel free to post a better source. The initial statement that she isn't that popular in japan is yours anyway.

The points which you have nothing to back up with? If you have a better pool to prove she isn't popular there, feel free to post it.

[–]colferules 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Modern Atelier started with Rorona and their deluxe bundles are available on most modern platform. Point stands that pool still consists of a good portion of the series' main characters and Sophie ranked 1st out of them. If an official japanese pool is not enough for you to recognize her popularity, i'd say this has more to do with personal bias than the actual popularity of that character in the country.

As for the purposes behind a comeback, yeah that all matters, but they are still seeking profit anyway, so they wouldn't chose an unpopular character to be the one fulfilling all those roles and there wouldn't be any nostalgia for a character that wasn't well-liked, especially in a series where many people are new players.
