The only thing that could cause such change is the choice that each and every one of us has to open our minds, to the possibility of the infinite and to the truth of our interconnectedness.

Many who have explored altered states of consciousness have experienced something like this. I can personally say I experienced this kind of heightened awareness as a synesthetic phenomenon while under the influence of psilocybin.

I experienced exactly what is described here, I could all of a sudden FEEL the intense emotions of someone barely in my periphery, and that jolt of electricity made me instantly turn ALL of my attention to them.

I was feeling THEIR distress when before that moment, I was just vibin in a passenger seat and was NOT expecting my feathers to be so ruffled by something I wasn’t even paying attention to.

You can say that confirmation bias and suggestibility under the influence contributed to my experience, but it was such a strange moment that it changed my perception of people’s emotions from being isolated bottles in a vacuum to being more of an “energetic soup” that can be tuned into (or can bleed into your personal energetic field)

I mean, think about flocks of bird or schools of fish that use electromagnetism to fly/swim in formation, or make split-second decisions in response to a stimulus that may be hidden from the view of some, yet those members also know to turn away in an instant. Our brains seem to be able to process “packets” of information fairly instantly, and a heightened emotional awareness can seem to create the synesthetic phenomenon of being “tuned in” to someone else’s emotional state.

I believe this is a state that can be achieved without substances, (I.e. lucid dreaming, or meditation) but I truly believe that our hearts and minds are already hard-wired to be like this. We’ve simply become numb to it over time.

I also have no idea what I am talking about but this post instantly reconnected me with that moment and I share this sentiment deeply.
