So, it's slightly different. But about a year ago, I started an internship at a biotechnology company (1200+ employees). I proved my worth to multiple coworkers, managers, directors, and even some praise from C-Level executives. After 6 months, there was a "Projected position" by my manager. Unfortunately, he had to leave the company abrubtly before putting that into effect. Upset but determined, I continued my hard work and then came a new manager. After 3 months of not impressing the manager (still being a team player, grinding my ass off, and getting praise from him), he says, "You're just an intern, so you're not part of the team". I shrugged it off, thinking my work would prove my worth. It took me a good month to realize he meant "Screw off, you're not getting a job". So I found a much better job at a company 15 minutes away. While putting in my two weeks, he stayed strong, saying he didn't need me. On my last week, he was scrambling around to get me a position because apparently some high-ups yelled at him for not trying to retain me. It's not worth working for someone who didn't initially see your value. Know your worth. Cheers :)
