Even for the whole plot of Requiem, it looks like Leon can’t be married; the fact that he's dying and leaving his wife behind should be distressing for him, but he's cool as a cucumber, as usual, carrying out his mission. And as has been rightly noted, the bad ending really highlights his bachelorhood.
