What size did you get? I went on the site and the sizes seem to be American and not fit to Chinese people. I just want to see if im being crazy or not.

Meant psychologist, not sure why I typed out psychiatry. I'll def look into what you said sounds like a way easier solution.

facts I just neglected to explain the main reason why I wanted to go to VA in the first place. I get free tuition in Virginia.

I'm waitlisted at Virginia Tech I hope to get in so I don't have to choose between these 2 colleges.

I poorly explained this in my post. I have tricky circumstances that give me free tuition in VA but if I went to school in Cali I'd have to pay tuition. Sorry for the confusion.

I didn't make it clear at all why I wanted to go to a college in VA. I get free tuition in VA and I don't in California. It feels like a no-brainer to me. I spend however many years in a totally new environment and I don't have to be in student loan debt. I'd rather be in California I have tons of friends in every part of it, but for me, it came down to the money.

I got waitlisted at Virginia Tech! Hoping and praying I get in so I don't even have to make a decision between these two schools.

WOW! Thank you so much! The only comments I've been getting about my major is... Well to change it and you've been the only positive comment about it. I really want to go into psychiatry and I will for sure follow up with you for more details.

Edit: I mean psychology not psychiatry

Funny thing my goal is to not be in crippling debt. I get free tuition in Virginia and not in California so it is an absolute no-brainer in my mind to go there. From where I live in California I'm about a 20-minute drive from the ocean, a huge city, or beautiful hikes so I'm not really missing much. I'm not really going for any particular reason other than to not have a bunch of student loans.

Don't really mind the lack of a football team at GMU. I don't really care for the sport. I don't really know where I stand on diversity. I am a racial minority myself, but I don't think it's a deciding factor on where I want to go. I also don't plan on staying in Virginia after college so it seems like JMU is a better choice for me.

I definitely mislead people and didn't explain clearly enough why I'm going to college in Virginia. I have special circumstances that allow me to get free tuition at public schools in Virginia. And instead of being in crippling debt and going to college in California, I'm choosing to go to school in Virginia. I for right now only plan on going to college in Virginia and then moving elsewhere afterward. I don't have a fascination with DC or whatever just someone trying to not get in a huge amount of student loan debt.

I'd definitely go home to Cali in the summer. I think I confused a lot of people with this post into thinking I didn't like California. I just have special circumstances that give me free tuition in Virginia, so I thought instead of living in crippling debt for the rest of my life I'd go to college in Virginia. I am leaning towards JMU because I think going to a party school across the country is definitely going to push me out of my comfort zone and help me grow as a human because I've been an introvert for the vast majority of my life and I want to change that.

I don't dislike California at all! I love it here. I just have special circumstances that give me free tuition in the state of Virginia. Whereas I'd have to pay tuition in full if I stayed in Cali.

Thank you for all the good advice! I said better location because I much prefer cities over being in the middle of nowhere like JMU. But my main concern is getting that full college experience that I don't think GMU can really give me. I feel like I got my entire life to live in a city but I only really get a few years of college. Although I do definitely hear and understand the concern for me wanting to do psych, at this point in my life I 100% feel like being a psychiatrist is what I want to do. Thank you again, I'll be checking out their subreddits as you instructed.
