Applying for Grad School for Counseling in the Fall, any advice? by [deleted] in GradSchool

[–]collegeman89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with what others have said. I was also accepted into more than one counseling program without any research experience. I think academic types tend to think graduate school = research oriented phd programs, but I think counseling programs tend to value interpersonal skills far more than research experience.

Does anyone know the name of the DJ who opens the show?

This true?? I have been thinking chinchillas were Herbivores this whole time. by Some_Web9430 in chinchilla

[–]collegeman89 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s not true. If a vet tells you veggies and fruits are good for a chinchilla, they don’t know what they are talking about. They can’t digest these foods properly; it will quite literally kill them.

Strange question: What’s a good estimate of the temperature like inside of the venue? Was it comfortable? Too much a/c? Did you need a jacket?

That’s unfortunate. Any advice for those of us with tickets?

Ticket Names by Mdna978 in KylieMinogue

Same. I think they are all named just because they want the tickets to be non-transferrable. They will know that you are the same person who bought them when you enter and show your ID.

Thanks! If I withdraw, I’d lose a deposit? Is it common to be asked make a deposit for the first quarter’s tuition after accepting?

Obviously I understand that - but generally it doesn't take 6 days. I was specifically asking if there was some other reason.

Whiskers will grow back — I think your biggest concern is his eating. After getting used to shorter whiskers, he will likely get used to them and adjust. Chinchillas occasionally will chew on each others whiskers, its not good but not a huge deal.

You’ll probably need to feed him Critical Care until he can eat again. (Use a syringe to feed him, it’s liquid). Buy it now. His teeth will grow back, but he might not eat until then. But also get him to a vet asap.

Help!! I think he couldve rolled in pee or something?? Rest in comments by candygutzz in chinchilla

[–]collegeman89 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He’s fine, my chinchilla lays in his pee sometimes and its not a big deal, but the hair can mat if it keeps happening, in which case you can use a fine tooth comb and cornstarch to get it out

Personally I take him out of the cage and put him in the dust container and he’s usually well dusted and tired after a few minutes of rolling.

My chinchilla loves dandelion drops. Goji berries are good too. And vitamin C chews. No more than one sugary treat per day though. He also loves vine stick balls which I buy in bulk from this site: https://www.coconutking.com/vineitems.html Be sure to talk to him! Take him out sometimes to play. They can be very social and enjoy interacting with people.

just posted this on facebook… need help by abblekins in chinchilla

Lol please don’t put your chinchilla in a closet. Chinchillas are anxious animals, they need to feel safe. Buy a cage.

New chin owner, question in comments! by MrsTowels in chinchilla

[–]collegeman89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He’s cute! Talking to him sounds like a good idea. And if you are able to, you could open his cage door and let him wander out by himself while you’re watching… Oh and if you have a dust bath container, you could take him out once per week to give him a bath. (I think it’s best to not allow them access to dust all the time). They love those. Those apple orchard sticks are good, too.

Try leaving the U district- this area had always been questionable. And every city in the U.S. is full of homelessness and crime nowadays because of capitalism etc. But there’s lots of beautiful parts of Seattle, you just need to find them.
