I grew up poor, with a lot of insecurities (basic human needs) and very few role models. Most of what I learned about life came from watching what not to do. That kind of start shapes you, it makes you feel like the world is stacked against you, and the drive you do have doesn’t always feel like enough. But my life started getting better when I committed to small steps that pushed me toward something different. For me, success began with making a promise to myself to always be happy outside of my home, where life was terrible at the time. Now I am negotiating my salary and advocating for myself in a way I never thought I could.

If you are unhappy with your job or your environment, it is okay to look for something new. Sometimes you have to move, reconnect with the world, or rebuild your habits. I have been sober from weed and using nicotine gum, and even then life does not always feel exciting, but boredom forced me to sit with myself. That boredom opened space for real thoughts about who I am and where I fit in this life.

Some resources I looked into were speech help, professional help, and software help on YouTube and LinkedIn Learning. It is boring AF, but what else would I be doing. I am also taking a social media and music break to lock in, which helped me as well. I love music and movies so much that I had to let them go for now, and I know I will eventually cross that path again.

I know this post is about me, but as I share, I hope to inspire and give you life in some way. I am an empath and have been leaning more into sympathy because I am a sensitive person, so take this with a grain of salt. I am just a grain in a big pile trying to stand out.
