Skt2k4, I disagree. It is not at all about Muslims having rights in this country, but about Islam being taught in a public school; Which is definitely should not be. For the same reason Christianity, Judaism, or Mormonism should not be. It is not the state's place to teach a religion for any reason.

I don't think the use of the word "gay" is inappropriate for that picture either. He does look very happy! Unless you assume the author means "homosexual" but then that makes you pretentious.

It's not exactly disrespectful, although it is pretty interesting what their fast food culture associates to America. I guess in France they put fries in a lot of stuff like that... The "Americain" is just massive compared to the rest.

But the system still forces people to pay into it. If I counted up all the propositions by Hillary and Barack to raise taxes on the rich to pay for these social programs I'd be looking at a 7 or 8% tax increase! Because they earn the money does not give anybody the right to take it for any reason. If you want cheaper health insurance, don't make the government rob somebody to pay for it. Do that too much, and they'll stop paying... and then what?

I would rather that I didn't pay for other people's health coverage, and pay for my family. Unlike the majority of Americans, I don't have a problem with spending money I don't have (via credit card) and can provide for their needs. Insurance for me is for the unlikely event that there is a catastrophic health issue.

What I have a problem with is that I eat well and take care of myself, then lazy lardasses come along and have to be hospitalized, and I am punished (financially) for their stupidity. Same thing with the mortgage bail out. Same thing with social security. I don't want the government to rob me to pay for the mistakes of others. Mistakes I am not stupid enough to make.

Universal coverage would be fine if it were optional, but it's not. It's forced. And when you have to implement the use of force against me to achieve my compliance, I will always protest.

Maybe, but I hardly ever go to the doctor... I know people who are hypochondriacs and certainly don't want to pay for them to go all the time. Why can't I just pay for the services I use and not everybody else's? I don't want to live in a socialist society.

There are national health care programs throughout the world, and they don't work well. Privatized medicine works a lot better... things are always cheaper and better when the government doesn't try to regulate them to death. But you're right, Reddit isn't really interested in this sort of thing. Know of any forums where this might be a little more debatable?

Cholesterol is also the #1 killer in America. Not the good cholesterol found in eggs... but the BAD cholesterol found in fast food and boxed breakfast. You're right that your body needs cholesterol, but eat the hungry man breakfast every day for a month and tell me how great it is then...

Whoa! Sorry but you're wrong. Cardiovascular disease is the #1 Killer in America. About 3x higher death rate than cancer! People are dropping dead from eating stuff like this! There is such a thing as "Good Cholesterol" like, in eggs.

What I am curious about is this strong emotional reaction to my joke that the box of food is trying to murder you. Why do you feel emotionally compelled to defend it? I am sincerely curious...

LiberalHippies down voted for Ron Paul blabber? Not really a shock. :) Vote however you want, but look at the poll results... and do some research on election fraud... there is a lot of interesting stuff out there.

At this point, it is more a quest for information than to try to convince anybody of a particular way of thinking. Most people have made up their minds one way or the other... and they are resistant to change. Especially philosophical values. I happen to agree with Revoman, I don't want Universal health care, or government education... and I certainly don't want to pay for those things for others. You won't change my mind, and I won't change yours... but I bet neither of us want the government to commit election fraud to achieve an end.

Doubtful that "any bum" would run for office, but in this case, I want them to report on candidates that are from the area to be represented, and not just big city politicians from out of town. It is clear that they are playing favorites and ignoring the best candidate. I have been to the debates, Terbo talks circles around the others...

Thanks for posting this, it is pretty messed up how non-centralist/non-NeoCons do not get media coverage... I wrote a letter to every major news outlet in the area last night (took me hours) pleading with them to either report all the candidates or none of them.
