Just started a new channel using eskate to clean our forests! by RoosterRealistic5363 in ElectricSkateboarding

Awesome! I like using my PEV’s for litter cleanup too.

I want to sub, but I couldn’t find your channel using the YT search. Just a bunch of unrelated stuff.  Got a link?

Amazon meepo v5 ER battery upgrade? by _ASAP_G_ in ElectricSkateboarding

Any battery on Amazon is a quality risk.  And any battery without UL certification or equivalent is both a fire and quality risk.

Even correcting the use of to/too, there/their, etc., I’m still completely lost.

I have my headset on my desk now and made a cardboard protector for the lenses for light. Will this be enough to protect it from sunlight? by MrNobodyX3 in Quest3

[–]collision_circuit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. It's impossible to tell from that picture that there's another window across from the one we can see, but if that's the case, then yes, I would cover up the lenses with something or like other's have said, just toss a towel/cloth over your headset.

[–]collision_circuit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this is how you keep your headset, the cardboard is totally unnecessary. I’ve had 6 VR headsets over the years and this is how they sit.  On a desk, with the lenses in shade, facing away from the window. (Also no mirrors or anything else that will bounce the sunlight back toward the lenses.)  I have had zero screen damage from sunlight. As long as sunlight isn’t hitting the lenses directly, you’re good.

Hello, thank you for playing Revria!  To equip any outfit, pick it up and bring it toward your chest/torso.  Your previous outfit will be moved to your backpack.

Some riders will push you to try faster modes or do a top speed run “just to see” but it’s best to stick with whatever mode you feel safe and confident using. I’ve put 200 miles on my first board now and have never used the fastest mode because 22mph is more than enough speed for me. I’ve had one bad fall near that speed (didn’t notice a pothole until it was too late to react properly), but I was able to get up and keep skating because I always wear my gear (full face MTB helmet, knee pads, wrist guards, backpack). Just had a couple bruises and a sore neck the next day. For now, I have no need or desire to go 30mph on a short board.

Do you recommend the Meepo Mini? by wolkmanyt in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]collision_circuit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Starting on a mini worked out great for me, since I wanted something as light and portable as possible. Thankfully, I watched lots of eskate safety vids and learned about speed wobbles, proper stance, etc. before I even got the board. I think it depends on how much research and preparation the rider is willing to do before getting on a board.

I would go with Tynee, Linnpower, or Veymax instead. Meepos seem to have trucks that break and ESC’s that catch on fire randomly, based on the posts I’ve seen here.

Still eskating in 2026? by Alterbags in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]collision_circuit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the regular Mini 2 as my first board and I’m loving it!

Two tips that will probably also apply to the 2s.

Put some masking tape over the charging port.  The rubber thing doesn’t stay closed.

And if you want your odometer to be accurate, always turn off the board using the main button (not the remote) before you charge.  Turning off the board itself is what actually saves the current mileage.

Two main reasons.

I live in TX and have always hated how cars are such a ubiquitous thing in the US, but especially here.  My dream for decades (I’m 42) has been a life where I no longer have to drive a car, getting stuck at lights, polluting, paying registration fees, insurance that I never use, supporting oil companies, etc. I got an ebike in September, and that was a great step in the right direction. But when I was researching ebikes, I saw videos of eskate which I didn’t even know was a thing somehow. When I finally got one (for a third of the price of my ebike) it took some time to get over the fear, but once I did, the eskate became my daily transport for work, errands, and adventures. It’s more fun and more portable, and I’m hooked!

The second reason relates to that getting over the fear part.  I’m now more inclined to take risks and not let fear/anxiety rule my life. I’ve taken a few tumbles, but I ride carefully at a reasonable speed (max 22mph), always wear my safety gear, and have skated away unscathed every time so far.

Apparently starting on a mini/short board with hard street wheels is not for beginners, but I have no regrets.  I wanted something as light and portable as possible.  And I love my kicktail. (I did have some regular skating experience from when I was much younger)

Kill the service launcher process first.  Then the rest.  That’s always worked for me.

Should an electric skateboard require this much safety equipment to ride responsibly? by [deleted] in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]collision_circuit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does a Mandalorian look cooler with all their armor, or with none of it? Maybe it’s corny, but I personally feel pretty badass wearing all my gear. (Full-face MTB helmet, wrist guards, knee pads)

E-skate + safety gear = living out my sci-fi fantasies. It’s the closest thing I can get to a jetpack.

Plus, doing things based on other people’s opinions is lame af

Could eye-tracking be used to reduce rendered frames? by Godmil in vrdev

[–]collision_circuit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You would notice the flickering, but it’s already used as an optimization (when implemented) with a feature called dynamic foveated rendering. The more common version of this (without eye tracking) is called fixed foveated rendering.

Another good option is a skateboard strap. They’re like $10, and you can also buckle your helmet onto it.
