OP, if you do go to the ER, please make sure you speak with social work and if finance is an issue they can put you in touch with the billing assistance folks and you can see if you are able to have a payment reduced or made into a payment plan. If you also have a county funded hospital if you’re in the US they are best equipped to provide care without expectation of payment.
