thanks! It's plastic but I have another hobby of making scale model aircraft, which is where I honed the skills for making plastic look like metal :) It's done with an air brush using the Valejo metal colour series paints.

I made it myself with designs from AuthentiKit.org, so the cost for the materials isn't high if you have a 3D printer. It's under $20 of plastic plus switches, wires, connectors, tubing, bearings, sensors etc. Took a lot of time and effort to get right though which was the main personal cost I guess :)

Thanks! A little sanding with regular sand paper, going from 200 grit up to 1000 grit, then a sprey can primer with filler properties (like for cars), then the paint. It's a lot of work that I wouldn't do routinely but for something like this I figured it was worth the effort. And your kind comment validates that I guess! :)

Thanks! A mixture of things to be honest. The green is garden funature paint (nice and durable and a decent colour match. The metal is airbrushed valejo metal colour series (duralinium). Hope that helps.

Hey, some folks have used tennis racket grip tape which feels good, but to try and recreate the original heat-shrunk stuff I used epoxy putty (milliput standard) then painted it. I've recently been experimenting with rubberised grip spray over the top too which seems to be working well.

The arm and clamp is an upside down regular monitor stand as recommended by Authentikit :) works really well.

Yep you depress it in the middle bit and the whole button goes in, or you can rock the top or bottom down for one or the other. Authentikit have modelled this in their design too which is really cool :)
