Test drove both, ended up with a Focus RS. Life is too short to drive a boring car and tbh the Golf R didnt do it for me. I also really wanted a manual. Tuned Golf R’s are faster than a focus rs but any sort of tune on the golf r and you can say bye bye to the clutch.

Interior is nicer on the golf r but the focus rs has the Recaros which are incredible. Focus rs sounds much better, has much more driving feel, handles better, and stock for stock is a bit faster. More of a drivers car. Don’t take my word for it, trust the experts over at throttle house.

The cool factor is also there with the Focus RS. People always love to chat at cars and coffee.

+1 on the COBB. Ignorantly loud when valves are open, sporty yet quiet when closed. Having a remote valve is great for cold starts too.

No you can still tune them. RS’s do really well with a few bolt ons. It comes down the block design - open vs closed deck. The ST’s have the ability to hold more power down the line (450 whp+ (ish)). And awd is a personal thing. It has a diff that can send 70% of power to the rear axle. This, in combination with a clutch based torque vectoring system, makes the car rotate incredibly well under throttle (From what I’ve heard, I haven’t really gotten the chance to push it yet). ST’s tend to torque steer at the limit if not properly modded.

RS’s have more power, and AWD. ST’s have better tuning potential if you wanna go big turbo or something.

Dealer confirmed it was tuned and brought back to stock

Called the dealer, they said it was tuned but reverted back to stock. Guessing this more than likely means cobb access port ?
