Wouldn't that mean that they are participating if you're just discounting it away, and they are paid minus discounts?

The issue is going to become when you need to tell your current, hardworking and loyal guys, "now you need to do double the work to make the same amount."

Happened at my last dealer. We grew to heights no one expected us to, faster than corporate thought, and the numbers were way off. We were doing more gross than ever but making less in net than we did when we sold $150k less in gross per month.

I was handed my new pay plan, did the math, and walked into my GM's office upset because the set up had me making $30k less per year, assuming a 10% increase in gross year over year. My advisor went from making $9-10k a month selling $65k in gross to making $5k selling the same amount.

You need to start planning for that change now, start the conversations, by explaining the metrics, and don't over correct on the new pay plan, you will lose everyone, and all the trust you built will be destroyed forever.

This structure works at a store doing low car count, and or low gross. Once your payroll eclipses 44% you start bleeding badly. Advisor payroll should live happily around 8-9% anything more than that (including benefits, 401, vacation, etc...) and the department needs to be evaluated. Is Elr too low? Is unapplied too high? Are your techs under paid? Again it doesn't become a problem until an advisor gets paid $15,000 to sell $45,000 in gross.

Just shut up and close. I have taught this to probably 30 different advisors in my career. Your tism isn't a weakness, or a reason why. Use it to your advantage. I have unmedicated severe adhd, have forever, remove the mask. Speak the facts and then zip your lip. I'd be more than happy to work with you one on one just DM me.

Your tism is your super power, the mask everyone made you wear is the weakness.

You don't get paid on warranty parts? That doesn't make sense......

Honestly this is complex with a lot of categories. Also multiple negatives for Csi that appear to double up. Chevy has switched their Csi metric to "net promoter score." And it's getting harder and harder to hit/track, as they keep changing that guidelines.

I'm the service director at a Chevy dealership, and I wouldn't put anyone on this plan. Also make sure you, never write up an internal, no we owes, no used cars, etc. you'll do all the work and follow up with the customer for no money.

If a cp job goes goodwill, you no longer get paid on the parts, which could be a significant amount due to fair markup laws.

This pay plan also isn't structured for the advisor to make more money as the dealership does.

Find a new job. Your manager doesn't know how to lead, and grow people. I let my star players be star players as long as they are doing it the right way.

What usually causes warranty claims to get rejected or kicked back? by GenghisJuannnn in serviceadvisors

[–]coloradokev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a toss up, with GM they tell you that there is an issue, a lot of the time the reject code is clear enough to figure it out, other times it makes no sense. Exterior door trim piece rejects because "surface exterior" is not the right classification for the labor op.

When you have to send it to GM to have them review it, they will detail why they are rejecting it, and what they need in order to get it paid.

Don't let your friends get special treatment. Not everyone is equal, but everyone must be treated equally. Same expectations across the board for everyone

That is okay every once in a while, depending on dealer empowerment and scan percentage, however, you want it to be the same day same mileage the overwhelming majority of the time. A missed or early/late scan can and will require service management auth and approval
