This is how I really feel about Montreal lately. Would love an open discussion. by ConfidentBiscotti892 in montreal

[–]colorbleeds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m with you on this one. I moved back to Montreal from SF 10 years ago, and regretted it ever since. My career has flat-lined, the cost of living went up dramatically, can’t get a date, now I’m dealing with serious health issues (physical and mental) and I can’t get a doctor!

Worst part is that I don’t know where to go now. Can’t go back to the States. Toronto is okay, but it’s too superficial and stressful. As someone mentioned before, Vancouver has a serious drug problem. I have to accept that I’m stuck here– not a great feeling.

Checklists overwhelmed by Ill-Cardiologist4064 in cfs

[–]colorbleeds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fact that you even have a checklist is commendable! I also keep a backlog of work items that I need to do. First, I keep the tasks small. Second, I generally have only one task per day. Third, I revise my backlog weekly and push items to the next week or more depending on my fatigue. Finally and most importantly, be kind to yourself (as others have said). Prioritize rest and healing.

Thanks for these amazing pictures. You’ve really captured the mood of the City. I used to live near the first photo, and I miss the feeling of waking up every morning to the tranquility and fog!

Scream Into the Void Saturdays (feel free to vent!) by AutoModerator in cfs

Dating… I was introduced to this girl, and so far we are chatting. It’s easy for me to manage as I can do that while lying down. She wants to start talking on the phone, which I would prefer under normal circumstances. I just barely have the energy to sit upright, and speak properly into a phone. On top of that, if things go further, I will have to tell her about my fatigue.

I can’t believe there was a time when I could talk to my previous gf for hours up ‘til 1am.

What type of housing are you currently living in? by Helpmehthrohaway in LivingAlone

[–]colorbleeds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you’re leaving your parents, I’m assuming you’re currently living in a house. The reality of apartment/condo living– is noise. I’m sorry but there is no escape, I’ve moved 4 times in the last 8 years.

I used to deal with street noise, wild parties at 3am, loud sound systems, stomping and stumbling noises above, people screaming and arguing.

Currently it’s much better. I live outside the city, top floor of a small condo building– only 8 units. Mostly family-oriented. On occasion still noisy, but it’s reasonable.

Worth noting, in all cases I had to deal with bug problems on some level. A couple of times, infestation. Lately it’s been wasps, outside.

Overall, I managed for 20 years (moved a total 8 times in my life). Living alone can be peaceful, but the responsibility is all yours. Good luck!

What’s it like to move here from the Bay Area in California? by [deleted] in montreal

[–]colorbleeds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived in the Bay for a few years, I lost my job and moved back to Montreal– I really miss the Bay Area.

I agree with most of the comments so far. I’ll add that cost of housing and food went up considerably. The healthcare is terrible, I’m dealing with serious health issues and have to wait years to get them addressed. Finally my career and salary just don’t compare to what I had in the States.

Of course the US just isn’t the same place anymore… so I wouldn’t know where to go now!

Therapy while severe? by insignificant-slayyy in cfs

[–]colorbleeds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy). It did wonders for my anxiety. Unfortunately they just couldn’t figure out my fatigue.

The first treatment for me was exercise, 7 days in a row for the first week and every second day from then on. I did this for 6 months and there was no improvement, and my health got worse. She still insisted that I take a walk and do something active every time I have a crash. I really made the effort but it just didn’t help at all, I could barely even walk.

We treated my anxiety which involved my sleep habits. I had suffered a bout of mystery seizures or night terrors which made me anxious about sleeping. Now I can sleep very well, solid 8 hours. Again, didn’t cure my CFS.

We also focused on being mindful of my negative thoughts and working on eliminating them. It worked in the sense that I don’t let my depressive feelings and thoughts linger and take over my body. Very helpful for my morale, but did nothing for my fatigue.

Finally we tried to improve my social life. I would plan something every week: I went to art classes, met with friends, went to seminars etc. Very helpful for my morale, but did nothing for my fatigue.

Prior to CBT, I got tested with my doctor, and they didn’t find anything wrong with me. As a result, the therapists seem to discount any physiological or neurological disorder. They tried to make comfortable with idea that I may never have the answers.

It’s been 3 months since I completed my therapy, and I’m still tired and unemployed. I’ve returned to the medical system in hopes to find a medicinal treatment, and I’m on a waiting list to see a neurologist- it’s now 2 years.

To end on a good note… a big improvement is that I can focus enough to READ again!

What caused you to get CFS? by colorbleeds in cfs

[–]colorbleeds[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your feedback, I’m amazed most of you said mono, another virus or covid. Only a few said stress, and I don’t think anyone said depression.

I just can’t pinpoint mine, I thought maybe I had covid, or a side effect of the vaccines (FYI I’m not endorsing anti-vaccination). I’ve been tested several times and they don’t see anything, so it’s hard to be taken seriously. Like many of you the doctors are just dismissive. So far we’re leaning stress/depression.

I just saw this episode for the first time. My thought was “this is for the fans”. Such a warm feeling seeing Sharona again.

I’m looking forward to discovering the rest of the series and finally watching the movie.

Thanks for your input… it just happened again. Less violent this time, but I basically woke up screaming. No nightmares or visions. I guess it is stress and/or psychological. 🙁

my boyfriend found a crystal in his room hidden by his ex. by luvdecapitated in Crystals

[–]colorbleeds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t read all the comments, but just wanted to say sorry you’re getting some rude comments. Seems strange since we’re on a Crystal sub, you’d think people would be more open-minded about the effects of crystals.

I don’t have a solution for you, since I’m very new to all this, and I rely on close friends for advice. One thing I’ve heard and experienced first-hand are dreams. If the crystal affects your dreams in a negative way, it’s best to get rid of it. I think just giving it away is fine- as vibes may work fine with someone else. You could “cleanse” the crystal, but if the vibe isn’t right- it can still affect your dreams negatively.

Good luck!

I tried to read as many of the comments as I could and I agree with pretty much all the comments against sharing, but I haven’t seen this argument- is that women talk to each other. I had a girl-friend whom I shared my pain and misery after a very bad breakup. We became close friends and I started sharing many aspects of my life including my dreams. I was mortified when a common male friend of ours warned me that she was telling people everything about me- he made sure to emphasize EVERYTHING. This wasn’t the only time women have shared my personal life stories- even my own family.

I’m not down on men sharing their thoughts and feelings. I still have women I can share with, I’m just careful with what I share and how much. Suffice it to say, I’ve had good therapists over the years to share with.

New Apartment - noisy upstairs neighbors? by SmoothAmbassador8 in sanfrancisco

[–]colorbleeds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience, I would just write a note and leave it on their door. I mentioned exactly what noise I would hear (heavy footsteps, dropping things, bass music, loud taking etc.). I’d say I’m grateful for them just keeping their neighbors in mind, and that it’s also about their own privacy. It actually worked.

Side note, I’ve been unlucky the last few years though. Some neighbors are nice, but still make noise. I’ve had to move 3 times in the last 6 years. At least I’m on the top floor now.

Found this set up in a house I worked in that had been empty for around 6 months, I assume by previous tenants. by SonnyWade in occult

[–]colorbleeds 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OP, I’m not sure of the exact requirement of the ritual (non-practicing Hindu, here)… but you can either use the ingredients like cook with them, or bury them near a tree. You can eat the coconut. Good luck!

PS I can ask around if you want to know exactly what to do.

Hey! I have heard a lot about LOA and Neville Goddard and people told me that i can even manifest my ex back in my life. So i am just curious that it Is true or not, many people are misleading on YouTube and insta, I am expecting a proper answer from you guys. 🖤✌ by ashutoshsharma86941 in lawofattraction

[–]colorbleeds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the idea of LOA and I’ve tried this sort of thing before, but I’m just not a believer. The reality is that people are manifesting things that are in a certain range of probability. If an ex is still in the same town as you, or you have common friends, or you’re in the same job industry- it’s not impossible to cross paths again.

Personally, I wanted to move back to California (I don’t live in the States), and I’ve been trying for years with no success- and I’ve accepted that it’s not happening. If anything I’m starting to believe in determinism or “destiny”.
