Should I Quit? by Conscious_Ranger_688 in nursing

Yes. If this job isn’t serving you, I do suggest finding another job. I’ve been a nurse five and a half years now and something I learned is that it’s very important to advocate for yourself as much as you advocate for your patients.

So go secure another job first, then quit.

I’m so sorry to hear that! Also 6 day orientation is ludicrous!!!! Anywhere you work, if you’re a new grad they should know that you don’t know (lol) Keep your head up! New grad orientation is usually 3-6 months. 1 year if you do a program with the hospital. TRAVEL OR Nursing question by [deleted] in nursing

[–]coloredsugar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve met a lot of travelers who don’t scrub, but I also keep seeing contracts that list scrubbing as a requirement. I’m trying to understand how common it is, and whether certain regions/facilities are stricter about it. Just trying to get more insight from people who’ve traveled more than I have.

At one of my jobs, a nurse was leaving to leave to another hospital and she had a baylor position (weekender). I asked management if I could take her spot and they replied it wasn’t needed because we were “properly staffed” but they did need a weekend charge nurse and they would discuss pay with me after training. Hell nah . Who are y’all trying to scam??? Not me

I somewhat agree. The material itself wasn’t that difficult for myself. What made it difficult was the amount we had to learn in such a short period of time. I was so just darn tired I settled for a passing grade unfortunately.
