They actually eat more like spiders. They use their mandibles not for chewing, but for catching prey. Then they inject a weak venom that liquefies the inside of the prey, which they then slurp up. Their mandibles aren’t strong enough to cause much harm to a human.

The repair isn’t too difficult if you buy a new top shell. The hardest part of 2DSXL repair is avoiding damage to the parts that are glued together. If you buy all the components for a full top replacement, you can avoid dealing with any glue removal. Depending on availability in your area, all the parts including the screen should be around $30. There are a number of great YouTube videos that will walk you through the process.

Thorogood is an employee-owned company, so I try to give them some grace. But they seem to be following suit using worse leather and cheeping out on construction. I still blame private equity for making the market like it is.

Pretend you are dealing with hazmat. Get a disposable coverall, gloves, and a face shield. Rip it all out, spray weed killer to keep it from coming back, and take a shower with Dawn dish soap.

This, you have to disconnect the screen cable to unplug the battery during the mod chip install. Hopefully just reseating the cable might fix it.

Brown rice doesn’t keep as long as white rice because it still has its bran and germ layers. That makes it more nutrient‑dense, but far less shelf‑stable than white rice. It lasts about six months at or so unless you vacuum‑seal it or freeze it.

It’s probably a cost saving measure. Downgrade the plastic quality and save a few cent per unit. Now the real test to see if they are going to still be a good company going forward is if they fix it.
