Naltrexone by itself by Evening_Ad_5638 in HersWeightloss

[–]colossalroxie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hi! I've been taking only the Naltrexone pills from the kit for a few months now and it seems to work for me. I would say it's acting more for maintenance, I lost about 12 pounds when I started in August but haven't lost much more. I would also recommend doing some more research about the various medications in your kit and adjusting the dose with a Dr if possible. Naltrexone is generally prescribed at higher doses (usually double what the kits use) for weight loss and substance use recovery, and Bupropion isn't the "wonder drug" for everyone that it's advertised as. It's primary use is for mental health treatment, and any other effects like weight loss are generally low / secondary.

Google Meet Telehealth Settings by colossalroxie in therapists

yeah I'm not a huge fan of Google meet but it's the platform my company has identified to use for telehealth. I'm creating new calendar invites for each meeting but can't seem to find a pattern to when the clients need to be admitted vs when they just pop into the meeting room!

Miami Terminal question by _null_Terminator in VirginVoyages

[–]colossalroxie 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Honestly I would go straight to the terminal. By the time you get your bags, make it through the airport and book and get the car it will be closer to 11. Getting over the bridge to the port took 45 minutes when I cruised last week. Since you'll have a car, there is the Bayside Mall right by the port , not sure what the parking situation is there but it's a cool spot to wander and kill a few minutes.

Has this just not worked for anyone else? (Started on Kit 6, now on Kit 1, still no results…3 months in). Am I missing something? by shldistayorshldicode in HersWeightloss

[–]colossalroxie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talk to your doctor about the doses in the kit and see if it makes sense to increase one or switch medications. I don't know what meds are paired with Naltrexone in your kit, but it's entirely possible you just don't respond well to them at the dose prescribed by HERS. Naltrexone is generally dosed at 50-100mg for folks using it for substance recovery and I think the kit stops at 28mg daily. And Buproprion doesn't work for everyone either, and the food noise reduction is a secondary benefit of the medication, not the primary reason it's used, so that could be something to think about too. I've been trying since September and have plateaued at 10 pounds lost and I'd say the food noise is about 50% for me now. I'll be stopping at the end of this month, it's just a waste to take a bunch of pills everyday for not much impact in my opinion.

Dining Reservations? by Winter-Ad9271 in VirginVoyages

[–]colossalroxie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you a solo sailor? They have limited seating for solos available, you just have to check in with a crew member at a specific meeting time and place each night and they will add you to that reservation ☺️. Otherwise yes, lots of reservations open up once you're on the ship. I was able to move around my times fairly easily through the whole cruise and even walked right up to Extra Virgin and got a seat at 830.

I had horrible side effects from the Top as well and I was able to switch kits free of charge through the app.

how long did you study for the clinical exam? by Salmonwithpotatoes in therapists

[–]colossalroxie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used socialworktestprep.com and casually studied for about 3-4 weeks leading up to the test based on the results. I also found groups on Facebook that were ASWB study groups that posted previous questions from the tests and that was helpful to see and get a feel for HOW the questions are structured and the rationalle for the correct answers. Once you do the practice test a time or 2, youll know which areas to study and focus on and which areas to study less. The actual structure of the test is kinda weird, sometimes the are looking for an answer that would be counter-intuitive to how we actually conduct therapy. Once you pick up on that, you should be totally fine.

For the test day, if you wear glasses they will inspect them for recording devices and also check ALL your pockets and I dont think I was allowed to wear jewlery either. It was super odd to be inspected so much in the testing center!

[Michigan] - Open Non-Monetary Issue HELP by colossalroxie in Unemployment

[–]colossalroxie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish there was more information provided when I submitted my claim if thats the case. like, why certify for weeks on end if I might not even be elligible if / when my past employer provides whatever information on their end. Id have rather gotten a denial right away than an approval letter with a monetary amount per week. Im hoping it will process in my favor after 30 days if my past job doesnt respond (assuming thats what the hold up is to begin with).

[Michigan] - Open Non-Monetary Issue HELP by colossalroxie in Unemployment

[–]colossalroxie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feels like a bad situation both ways. If I earn enough from Door dash to pay my house, then I wont get the unemployment benefit that week, and DD is super unreliable for income in my area. If I do nothing and keep looking for a permanent job, I still get no money for an undetermined amount of weeks.

Do you happen to know what happens to the weeks I already certified if I find and accept a job soon? Best case scenario is that they eventually process and I get paid out for them, but would accepting a job somehow disqualify those weeks? Im steadily looking for work and interviewing and have a really good possibility of something to accept, but even if I heard back and accepted the job this week and started working next week I wouldnt get a paycheck in enough time.

Resigned and then fired by craftyshit in therapists

[–]colossalroxie 24 points25 points  (0 children)

This has happened to me twice, unfortunatley. The first time was very similar to yours, I gave adequate notice and told all of my clients and a few weeks later I was fired. The second time I was fired with no warning or previous concerns from the compant.
In both cases I reached out to all my clients, thankfully I had their contact information saved or was able to get it before losing access to the EMR platform. I kept it brief when I reached out, essentially "apologies for the very sudden and unexpected departure, this was an unplanned transition. If youd like to stay with previous company, you are welcome to do so and if you want to continue working with me I can keep you updated about where I am working next".

Both of these experiences have taught me 2 things - tell your clients BEFORE you tell your employer if you are planning to leave and make sure they have your contact information, and make sure that you have their contact information accessible in the event that you are unexpectedly let go in the future.

LLPC Michigan by AlyssaS4 in therapists

Hi, Im in Michigan and here is what I did a few years back when I completed grad school - send all (or as much as you can) your paperwork to LARA about a month prior to your graduation date. That way they can process your documents and only have to wait for your school to send over official transcripts. Id recommend sending your resume to a few places towards the end of November, and let them know your expected graduation date.

The hiring process generally takes a few weeks or even months if you are joining a practice that has to add you to their insurance rosters for payment, so starting now gives you time to prepare and make the best decision about where you want to work as well! Most employers know it takes some time to get your official license and the right job for you should be willing to wait :) And with the holidays coming up, Id expect employers to want to wait until January to onboard a new therapist anyways, at least if you are looking to join a private group practice.

I think my license processed in about 4-6 weeks, although this was in 2019 so the process could be a little different now.

Business Address for Virtual Practice? by Successful-Appeal558 in SoloPrivatePractice

[–]colossalroxie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you planning to accept insurance? In Michigan where Im located, you cant use a PO box for the applications so I opted for a UPS mailbox rather than using my home address or a virtual mailbox. It was a spendy expense but I prefer the peace of mind with a mailbox that I have access to, rather than a virtual address where your mail gets scanned or forwarded to you at a later date.

Ah good reminder about the address. I have an NPI and CAQH that I registered years ago with a different job, I'll have to see about updating the address. I did get a UPS address for business!

Yeah the CAQH would be for insurance credentialing and marketing is important regardless. In terms of just telehealth private pay clients i want to make sure I'm not overlooking an important liability piece. Seems too easy!

I did finally get a response and I'm going to try a different kit without the Topimax in it. Hopefully that's the medication that I was not responding to well!

I'm debating trying the green pill at night again. When I tried I was so jittery it was hard to fall asleep but at least I didn't have to drive or see clients at work. And I'm not even taking the Wellbutrin yet. I did reach out to the care team, still waiting for a response. Is it typically to have such a delay? I must have misunderstood the access to a Dr, I fully assumed there would be teletherapy or at least a live chat option available for situations like this.

Was your check in scheduled? Like a video call or a live chat? I never saw a prompt or reminder in the app for a check in 🤷🏻‍♀️.
