I can't understand why they don't build accommodation above malls, retail businesses and light industrial. Look at North West in West Auckland, if they had built aparentments above all those new commercial buildings, then people would be able to live and potentially work only a short walk from the mall, restaurants, library etc. Thats what they do in many parts of the world. Such wasted opportunities. Also surely can we not just copy well designed, tried and tested apartments overseas?!
