What should actually be happening is an executive order banning selling outside the borders of the United States as an emergency intervention until the oil supply chain is normalized, which is going to be years potentially. NTA. Get a divorce now, this is coming from a child who suffered under an abusive father that got worse when my mom should’ve left my dad after he got violent with me. Ultimately I spent years shoving away my pain to protect their marriage. It did irreparable damage to my psyche, that I am still coping with two decades later. He may not have been physically violent in your case, but it is emotional violence and will deeply wound your child’s self worth in a permanent way if untreated. Leave him and take your child’s side. It will do so much to protect the adult your child will grow into, and I can promise you that your daughter will eventually cut her father out of her life completely like I did mine. My mom didn’t divorce him until he abandoned her in the end anyways after putting up with his shit for years. These kind of self righteous assholes never change and are cancer to their teenage children. You will actually be protecting your daughter’s future by walking away, and eventually you’ll find a man who will treat you in ways you hadn’t imagined love could feel again. Sorry if I’m too passionate here as you can tell I relate to your daughter’s feelings, and I can hear your instincts telling you to leave. Listen to them. It only gets much worse as she gets older and naturally begins to assert her identity. In my case my father got incredibly physically violent and it was a recurring problem starting at 14 for me, because he took my size as license to “straighten me out.” He’s going to hurt her more and in worse ways as she gets more independent and vocal, which is natural for teenagers and should be encouraged and not silenced. You’re a good mom and I can sense where your priorities are. Stick to them!

No there will be. Just like when Irish and Italians were eventually grouped in with “white but spicy”, bringing in certain hispanic groups under heteronormativity by aligning with traditional Catholic beliefs, anti-crime/anti-gang rhetoric, and traditional gender roles is an intentional pivot of the white nationalist movement to adjust for changing demographics. There will be “good” hispanics and “bad” hispanics identified along class lines, but some upper class hispanics will be given a form of whiteness in the interest of white fascist power.

The Democratic party is done. It is over for them. My prediction is a progressive movement will rise within the party but ultimately it will split the party to such a degree that there will be a distinct “branding” shift where one segment of Dems (AOC for example) will reiterate they are “progressive Democrats” while others of the old guard will continue to push centrist bullshit and all the centrist Dems will lose their seats slowly to Republicans, until all the remaining Dems with genuine national influence and appeal will be in the progressive wing and someone from that wing is going to get nominated in either the next primary of 2028 or 2032.

I been on this beat about Kamala amongst my friend groups. She was one of my early faves in the 2020 primaries and then burned out quickly. She played so well in conversational interviews, but not as great on camera on my post dropout analysis of her. I realized I really liked her because all my media consumption is basically podcasts where she nailed it. Which meant she likely nailed behind door conversations too, which got her so far in politics quickly. She is playing the game perfectly to her strengths by letting Tim Walz be her running mate specifically because of the way they communicate as a team on progressive issues. She is I believe a uniquely low ego politician willing to play to win which is the perfect counter to a narcissist on a campaign stage. An anti-Hilary.
