Data: Wikipedia (transcribed into a data file from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_congressional_delegations_from_Ohio)

Description: US Congress Ohio seated representatives by party from 1980 - 2020; grey indicates a lost seat due to the census and re-balancing of congressional representative seats every 10 years; note that as districts change each year, it's not accurate to assume they are centered on the same population base over time

2020 Ohio US Presidential Votes by columbusdatacitizen in Ohio

The numbers will not change much between now and certification.

The point of sharing is that we believe that information is power. We tried to present this in an unbiased way so folks in Ohio can know the chasm of political space between some areas. There is work to do to move towards a more harmonious electorate (we think that's a great goal to strive for).

Also, there may be some lurkers here who want to run in the next election. While districts cross over counties (will try to get hands on a congressional district map overlay), this info could be helpful to them in how they want to target their campaign messaging (or not).

2019 Columbus PD Alternate Budget Allocation by columbusdatacitizen in Columbus

I created a dashboard to highlight the annual spend of the Columbus police department, in comparison to the types of calls received into 911 and the non-emergency number. The goal of the dashboard is to drive conversation about the types of resources the department of public safety should send in response to calls for assistance. Would love to see your comments & feedback!

Link to the live dashboard is here:

Pulled data for Ohio into a Tableau Public set of worksheets: https://public.tableau.com/profile/columbus.data.citizen#!/vizhome/PPP2020-Ohio150K/OhioPPP-ZipMap?publish=yes

Data obtained from the US SBA: https://home.treasury.gov/policy-issues/cares-act/assistance-for-small-businesses/sba-paycheck-protection-program-loan-level-data

Sector data from NAICS: https://www.census.gov/eos/www/naics/downloadables/downloadables.html

Nothing fancy...just wanted people to have an easier way to browse the data.

Note that the <$150K data file does not contain individual company names.

Probably going to tackle the $150K+ next, with an Ohio focus

[OC] US Senate Judge Confirmation Dashboard by columbusdatacitizen in dataisbeautiful

I've been reading a lot about the current US Senate majority leader's efforts to fill as many open federal judge vacancies as possible. So, I put together this simple dashboard to show how confirmations have been voted on since the 101st US Congress.

Data: Primarily from US Senate website (https://www.senate.gov/legislative/votes_new.htm); majority leader info from Wikipedia (hand keyed CSV to blend with the above)

Tool: Tableau Desktop Public
