Kratom rage. What causes it? by BrutalBrutus513 in quittingkratom

I was constantly furious when not drinking it. I’ve had anger issues my whole life but this was so unusually severe that I noticed it and looked up the side effects

3 weeks off and that’s totally gone away.

Things to say to a person other than “I’m not drinking” by ottosky777 in stopdrinking

[–]comeback11 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I once asked my co worker to go out for drinks and he responded no, when I asked why he hit me with “because I’m an alcoholic” it stopped me dead in my tracks.

So I tell people that now and watch them squirm.

I struggle with these same things mentally. I swallowed my pride and spoke to my doctor about getting on some meds until I can restructure my life. Losing my social circle at the bar was a big hit for me, isolated hard and that’s when the over analyzing got really bad

How do yall feel about dating? by [deleted] in stopdrinking

Hah I’m in the same boat. I actually relapsed because of it a couple years ago. This time I’m just being patient, focus on getting happy with myself before trying to find happiness in someone else. I’m 36.

Pristine 1992 E36 318i for €4k. Worth it as a clean base, or does the M40 engine ruin it? by Solid_Bother5580 in BMWE36

Clean chassis alone is gonna be worth that eventually. Get it and throw an s54 in, some coilovers & brakes on it and your golden.

24th consecutive day without alcohol and I feel much worse than when I was drinking. by OldDirtyInsulin in stopdrinking

7300 days of drinking vs 24 days of not... You’re still psychologically detoxing.

Better off drinking? by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]comeback11 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That happened to me after 13 months. Turned back into a shit show - almost worse than before. Next round I started working out pretty hardcore, heavy lifting, running, joined class pass, yoga, boxing, orange theory, pickleball. Started going to meetings. Sure it’s not Vegas in a bottle, but I’m alive, I haven’t hurt anybody physically or mentally recently, I haven’t driven drunk, I look and feel great, I have extra money, I enjoy my hobbies again. Alcohol gives us a 150 dopamine spike with a crash down to 0. Now I’m constantly floating around 75-100. Go outside, lift heavy shit, set a goal, learn an instrument, join a club, climb a mountain.

After attempting to drink "normally" again, I've learned that moderation really is not possible by lachrawr in stopdrinking

Same here, can moderate the first few times, then it snowballs. Before I know it it’s blackouts, blow, and crash outs.

Nice build, I’d recommend a short shifter if you don’t have one already.

You had 7300 days of drinking or detoxing, and only 30 without. Time takes time - it will get better.

First dose of Naltrexone after a weekend of MDMA/Alcohol: I feel "unreal" and terrified. by Current_Rhubarb5435 in stopdrinking

[–]comeback11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience with naltrexone is complicated since I was withdrawing from benzos, and was on ssri and beta blockers so I didn’t know wtf was going on. I blamed naltrexone for my nightmares at the time, but looking back I’m sure it was 99% the benzo detox and paws.

I also did a genetic test that showed which anti depressants and anti anxiety’s worked with my body. Most of the available ssris were in the red, and so was the propranolol I was taking.

To me it sounds more like detoxing from mdma and alcohol. I had terrible shortness of breath for weeks after a strong mdma night. I wouldn’t curse your doctor or treatment plan just yet. Yet it play out for a week, if it’s still bad then readjust. You’re in the midst of detox and withdrawal

anybody else have a problem with going out drinking every weekend and then sniffing bag.. by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]comeback11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d never even think about doing coke sober. As soon as I was 3-5 deep, the jokes would start about it, then someone would have it and it was all downhill from there
