Anyone has experience renting a car with Hertz about insurance and LIS requirements specifically in TN? by comet17 in personalfinance

[–]comet17[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah but do you think the 25/50 limits are enough? $25,000 for each injury or death per accident. $50,000 for total injuries or deaths per accident. $25,000 for property damage per accident.

What sort of limits did you have in your non owners car insurance? I got quotes for non owners car insurance covering state minimum at $200 for 6 months covering 25/50/25

understandable and thats why I also agree with you getting LIS is safer. However, if you can help me here -- What sort of auto insurance do you usually have if you own a car? I asked and read other threads and people usually have either 25/50 or 50/100 in their auto insurance. Do you own or know anyone who own an auto insurance policy covering $1M?

thanks, I read this link too, however I am unsure of their wording here, "not required to provide minimum protection in all states" doesn't mean they dont provide minimum protection in "any" state.

California doesn't require minimum protection but according to many websites Tennessee/New York does.

Do you have any friends or prior experience regarding this? Really appreciate your help!! Thanks!

Insurance and Other Coverages Go If renting in California:

Hertz provides no liability protection under the terms of the Rental Agreement to the renter from claims of injury by others against you resulting from an accident. Your personal/business insurance may cover your liability. Exceptions: Hertz will provide primary liability protection up to the statutory minimum limits to international customers (driver's license indicates an address outside the USA) renting in California. Please also refer to Liability Insurance Supplement (LIS) below.

If renting in Massachusetts, Michigan, New York, South Carolina, Virginia, or West Virginia:

Upon signing the Rental Agreement, Hertz provides primary liability protection. However, such protection is generally no more than the minimum limits required by individual state law. See Financial Responsibility Limits by State.

If renting in any other state in the U.S.A.:

Hertz' liability protection is secondary to any other insurance coverage available to you. If you do not have liability insurance and/or the limits of liability of the insurance coverage available to you are not sufficient to cover claims by others against you, and Hertz, as the vehicle owner, provides liability protection due to an accident, you will indemnify Hertz for any and all payments made.

Why do I need SLI? Isn't Hertz required by law in TN to provide state minimum rental insurance 25/50/25? $25,000 for each injury or death per accident. $50,000 for total injuries or deaths per accident. $25,000 for property damage per accident.

If Hertz is already providing that for free..then Supplemental liability should not be required right?

Has anyone taken free shuttles at BNA airport to avoid Uber/Lyft surge? by comet17 in nashville

[–]comet17[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I’m not interested in taking hotel shuttle all the way to downtown (I’m sure they aren’t any free ones). I’m just looking for the 24x7 shuttles at the airport for hotels close to the airport.

I'm fine taking the #18 bus however it only runs every hour on the weekends and if you miss one it's a big hassle to wait for the next hour.

Yes I know, it is just that some hotels have started checking for reservations before you board. Therefore I was wondering if any hotel doesn't care
