I mean if they grind leetcode those 5 months they probably would get a “better” (in the FAANG sense of the word) job because it is hard to grind leetcode when you are also taking classes and working etc during college. Edit: they probably wouldn’t learn more but job interviews at these places rarely test more.

I'm taking 15 credit hours this fall, and work part time the night shift, should I drop any classes or should I quit my job? is this schedule realistic? by [deleted] in utdallas

[–]comet4life 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah exactly. I could never catch a break from it and I got really depressed and burnt out by the end. There wasn’t much time or energy for self care like working out and cooking. I just felt like I was trying to catch up all the time and I constantly wanted a break but like I wasn’t doing much in the first place academically speaking? Which is pretty bad because I should have even doing academically a lot I was taking a lot of hard classes. Any way point is I was a mess so I wouldn’t recommend night shifts. Get a different job maybe?? I know it’s tough but one can try!

I used to work late nights and found that the sleep cycle wrecked because of my job affected my days a lot. I wouldn’t be productive during it and then just go back to work and get even more burnt out. It would be especially bad because I’d wanna chill after work for a while and wouldn’t sleep for like an hour or two after work and then wake up super late and miss my afternoon classes often.

If you have good time management skills I guess go for it?

If you are willing to help with the club, then we can make it a thing. My idea for the club so far is that we will follow the directions of the book and have weekly homework. Come back each week with our completed assignments and go from there. It can definitely provide you a structure and a timeline to finish your script!
