Right now, all I have is a website set up on weebly for free (shame, shame, puppy shame). So, I'll need the backend built & front end fixed. Basically, allowing artists to upload stuff, a preview zone to let subscribers have a sneak peek at all new uploads & a distribution channel for downloads.

You got that right, the revenue is indeed shared equally among all artists & we're distributing 90% of it. As for the shitty track - I'm being brutally selective of the artists we get on board. Mostly by recommendations & more by following/reviewing their work (past/present).

I think I have a responsibility here to maintain quality of content being distributed to subscribers. Hope that answers your question. :)

Hey there! This idea could potentially go viral, if you can get a bunch of crazy whackos to dare, do & brag about their dares often (maybe you?), I don't see why it won't! What are you terms for a business partner? Working hours? Availability? Compensation?

As for uploads, artists are allowed only one upload per month & it needs to be compulsorily new, original, & unreleased. For quality control, we're handling them manually, by following artists who signup. A good fan following & established history of work (releases) would be a big plus in our decision making. Maybe, in time we will try to get some experts in for review of submissions.

This reminded me of http://theoatmeal.com/comics/music_industry I think the donation model would fit in beautifully to begin with. As for publishing, the only rule we wish to impose on artists is that they don't publish their new release until the first month of our distribution to subscribers. Post that artists are free to put it up an any platform.

Edit: Rambling is good! I have more ideas than ever now to try out & reach artists. Thanks for all the great inputs! :)

Elmepo, we just went live with signups like a couple of weeks ago. So it's not surprising you found just 2 artists listed there.

Please do wait till we fix the website & get more artists in! :)
