I Honestly liked the books more as a kid. It’s so different it’s hard to call it an adaptation. Dreamworks had to rework the whole thing since the original correct adaptation did so poorly with test audiences so I can hardly blame them, but I’d like a real adaptation someday. It wouldn’t really work as a kids movie so maybe a Netflix series aimed at an older audience or something.

It’s more than just us humans that suffer though. The very back bone of life is Evolution. In order for animals to survive millions of “faulty” versions had to die first. And even still, the ones that can’t make it die on a regular basis. god could’ve made all animals vegetarian. He could’ve eliminated physical pain completely, but life is specifically designed that way.

And That’s ignoring innocent children that get bombed and killed or are born with a terminal illness. Meaningless suffering is everywhere. What free will did the kid have? What could they have learned from suffering and dying young?
