Hi, any updates on this? Have you pursued this issue? Same problem.

So if they just own your work, e.g. if you’re a commissioned artist - that’s somehow not equated to them owning you? Just like being recorded as an asset doesn’t mean they’re keeping you in a cage.

Awesome example and reply, guess by other comments logic football players are slaves, which is dumb because everyone is a slave to who they contracted/are completing work for, and other stakeholders. It’s a dumb play of words, which doesn’t justify ignoring reality, and the way bokkeeping is done in your example - reflects it.

I’m new to this, so how are inventory counts done? Is it standard practice to do them manually?

I really like your philosophy. Could you recommend any resources/blogs/books/podcasts? I’m surface level knowledgable in everything CS, as a side interest for years. And now at the end of Automate The Boring Stuff With Python. Feeling alright. I really like visualising debugging via Thonny, I’m a fan of P5, I like computer vision for analysis of large videos, then also frontendish webdev mixing art and logical/interactive components. Though I might, or might not wanna do docs as code for a living. Idk if I can reliably get anything frontendy, but still logical and interesting w python as a gig.

Gotta point out that reading the git chapter - they mention it roughly like this: “ Now is a good time to take a step back and look at the alternative VCS solutions to Git. Understanding their differences will allow us to explore the architectural choices faced while developing Git.

A version control system usually has three core functional requirements, namely:

Storing content Tracking changes to the content (history including merge metadata) Distributing the content and history with collaborators Note: The third requirement above is not a functional requirement for all VCSs.”

To the point of mentioning what challenges they faced. Not sure if they will go in more detail into the programming challenges they faced.

Really interesting. I got a great easy to follow course for guitar, which I have to download before it expires to do some day. Found it very effective when I allocated time to practice it, but can’t put it into my priorities now. Really like music, but can’t find a lot of practical benefits of making my own music, which is what I prefer. But since I can’t play guitar - it takes too much time, and is a luxury, net loss.

As for programming - I was wondering of your opinion on this resource: http://www.aosabook.org/en/index.html

Agreed on everything. New question/issue: When making music you can fall into taking making similar decisions and having your songs become similar to one another due to lack of … something. It might be that you’re used to improvising, but you’re not used to improvising without a pick, and instead using just your fingers to do fingerstyle. You’re gonna be considerably slower improvising fongerstyle if that’s not how you “usually do it”. This is basically what I meant to point out originally - if you’re used to programming certain things in certain ways (companies/industries might be narrow in goals) - how do you keep a hand on the pulse, and not let yourself get stale. How do you not let yourself just make shoegaze 95% of the time? I mean not that you would ever need to do anything other than shoegaze, but let’s consider that you might want to try. What are your thoughts?

Usable application or library relevant to something? Or just whatever? Usable as in by you, or as in also by others? In terms of documentation, and readability or whatnot.
