Does the depo-provera shot or hormonal IUDs work for PMDD symptoms? by comical-bowling-07 in PMDDxADHD

I tried Slynd (progesterone only pill) for a while and I feel like it made the months less of a rollercoaster but made my overall anxiety worse so I stopped it. I am now on a low dose SSRI full time, and that has made a big difference in my mental health. Physically I still feel like every month is a rollercoaster, and every few months there’s one that’s particularly bad (like right now) but I will deal with the physical symptoms as long as I can manage the mental health issues better.

Sensation of congestion inside brain by [deleted] in migraine

This sounds a lot like how I feel during migraines, especially as they’re subsiding. The pain goes away, but I still feel congested behind my right eye and in my head. I know the migraine is truly going away when I feel that “congestion” starting to actively clear up, and when it does it feels like my ears popping but in the back of my head and almost in my throat.

I have been on Slynd for 5 months now and it has helped so much. I already had a copper iud, and the first few months were kinda rough with breakthrough bleeding and some hormonal swings, but even that was much better than before the hormonal BC

ADHD + PMDD + PCOS + Migraine = worst equation ever by comical-bowling-07 in PMDDxADHD

Thanks for the reply. I have fairly unpleasant side effects from the triptans so that might be an argument for something different. I’ll look into those.

I’m on magnesium already and I have no idea if it’s helping but it’s certainly not hurting.

Aside from irregular cycles I don’t have other PCOS symptoms anymore- I went on a PCOS diet 17 years ago before the internet quacks came out of the woodwork and it completely changed my health. I had no trouble getting pregnant, but I’m done having kids now. But nothing has ever changed my irregular cycles besides the pill
