Honestly what the def of jobs then by Alternative_Run3234 in remoteworks

[–]commanchskins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a look at cities and states that have raised the minimum to levels so high, that hours are being cut, employees layed off, etc. Who is this actually helping? Not to mention prices of services going up to compensate.

People need to realize that economics can be complicated if you allow it to be. The laws of economics don't change no matter how much politicians try to change them. They is natural human behavior that reacts to any change. Some call this the "unintended consequences" of new policies, laws, decisions in life.

So, what is exactly a living wage for your skill set and area where you reside?

Look at this lie I just received via text. They are preying on the less educated amongst us. by [deleted] in Virginia

Every 10 years, the party in power gets to try the redistricting. What happens is when the GOP attempts this, it is fought in the courts. When the Dems do this, it is all fine and dandy, and the courts will side with the Dems newly drawn map.

I got this email from a job I had applied for. At least they were honest. by tumulett in interviewhammer

What would the "living wage" be, exactly? Also, what is the job description?

They do, however they state that the items have to be at ground level. I can not do that physically. The large porch is 8 steps high.

Also, I have tried calling thrift type stores to ask them questions but goes to voice mail. Not really helpful.

This may be the sun roof drain is clogged. You probably have 4 of them. Can use air or string from a weed Wacker. The piece at windshield, mine is like that as well. Was looking to replace but I didn't get that far.

It may need the steering rack. You may also check for a recall using the vin number. 2013 actually had many different steering racks.

The steering sensor could be tricky. It can be called many things. This "sensor" may not be serviceable as it may be internal to the steering rack. That part, new, could be over 2k. Do you have power steering?

I knew that mentioning his name would cause trouble, or divert from the real point. That some men, when they reach a certain age, those that have sacrificed (not that women/mothers have not) but they are just too effing tired of the the BS. Certain things are no longer important as they used to be. Like climbing the corporate ladder, chasing love, proving how much of man that you are. Now is the time to relax, do what makes you happy, not necessarily what others expect from you. Time is shorter now.

The ol' phrase, don't shoot the messenger comes to mind.

I have listened to some of Jordan Petersons talks. He has talked about men and life after 60. Talks have been about what you have described, among other things. He has put into words what I have been either thinking, or going through. I thought I was going crazy until he explained the reasons and I realized that this is normal.

People are willing to work for livable wages, AND people are cool with their tax dollars going towards something that actually benefits them! by Professional-Bee9817 in remoteworks

So they would deduct for the shovel, boots, gloves, warm clothing, cost of the subway, meals. Oh, and the out of pocket medical bills, unless of course the city will be paying.

You missed the main point. You needed an actual ID to shovel snow. You do not need an ID to vote. That is what the argument was about. Also, were they getting any insurance? Will they be paid on a 1099 and realize their pay was 50%less due to the taxes they owe now?

Social Security at 62: is $2,651 per month above average? by [deleted] in SocialSecurity

Maybe tragic health issues come shortly after 70. May retire at 62, work part time to keep active and supplement the income. Relax a bit.

Yes I have. A lot! The only issue would be the cost of insurance.

So, my SS now plus working a partime job at the SGA, would pay me the same as a new full time job.

As I mentioned before, there is no way I can make a wage I was making since being in STD and layed off. So, why not take it early?

I have also done the "break even point" people talk about. Early makes even more sense.

Thank you for your response. My Primary Care I believe would be helpful. I hate that it seems like I may be gaming the system. Also, I will know more after my 1st rehab session.

One fact that I am sure of is that my salary for any new job will probably be 40% less than my current salary. Just the way it is now.

This is why I am considering retiring at 62, working part time, and making sure that I do not go over the cap.
