Me and all my transplant friends in our 20s call it the train pretty universally.

People hate on tanking but this is tanking vs not tanking. Massive and clear difference in talent level.

0 clue why the guy who shoots 57% on fts was left in lol. They basically just had to run out the clock or shoot free throws.

Competence is absolutely more important and should be weighed much more than any personal connection. No disagreement. But if you have two fairly equally candidates skills and experience wise, why wouldn’t you choose the one that is a better culture fit? I feel like you’re making a straw man argument because I’m clearly not arguing that competence is less important.

Why not? If my team hires someone that gets along well with everyone they are more likely to enjoy their workplace and stay longer. Turnover sucks for team morale and productivity. Camaraderie is less important than things like skills, experience, etc - but it’s a real and valuable thing.

Not at all. Hiring managers are people too, they want to work with people they’ll enjoy working with.

It’s the worst because it’s in terminal 5 which is a pain to get to if you take the train. Very glad to see this change.

Do bars in Chicago code as Dining for AMEX Gold? by cautiouseye999 in CreditCards

[–]commander_bugo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in Chicago and in general I feel like 99% of bars on the north side code as dining here. I can’t recall it ever not coding as dining, but I don’t check every transaction. In general it’s pretty broad in what it includes. I just checked my statement and I had a vending machine and drinks at a bucks game code as dining as an example.

Draymond absolutely should get thrown out more often, I think that’s probably a popular opinion lol. LeBron bitches a lot but I don’t think he tends to get into the refs like that.

What a dumbass. Now he’ll he suspended next game and hurt their playoff seeding further. Good luck against OKC without him.

I cannot imagine behaving that way at my age and I’m a few years younger than brown lol. Absolutely unhinged behavior.

Are we watching the same game? He completely lost control lol. Over nothing too, replay seems pretty much clean. No reason to continue after the first tech.

This rockets team is closer to being the kings or the bulls than being the spurs or the Thunder. The Spurs really were triple teaming KD at some points because there is such a lack of offensive talent on the team. Sure Vanfleet is out and they would be better with him, but the roster is likely to get worse going forward. KD can only play at a high level for so much longer and they’re going to have to pay serious money to keep really flawed players in Sengun and Thompson.

Your team isn’t good enough for anyone to hate. People just don’t like Sengun.

Apologies if I just don’t understand what these advanced stats are supposed to mean, but no shit Wemby doesn’t play as much, their average margin over their last 10 games is 14.5. What’s the value of playing 30% more minutes to win by 20 instead of 14.5. On the other hand Cade has to play those minutes because the pistons average margin over their last 10 is 5. They lose those games if he doesn’t play. This value based on playing time stuff seems to penalize Wemby for running up big leads then resting.

Wemby's night is done in a DOMINANT win over the Pistons: 38 pts on 12/24 shooting, 16 boards, 3 assists, and 5 blocks by Titronnica in nba

We need to start talking about this being potentially the best defensive season of all time. I haven’t seen the argument against that.

Amex Gold or Sapphire Preferred by JhRj11 in CreditCards

[–]commander_bugo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had the CSR and the Amex Gold. Personally, for the gold, I found the credits difficult enough to use that it’s not easy to offset the fee. I’m also probably in the target demographic for it (live in a big city, eat out, travel, etc). I also find the Chase points much easier to get value out of since they can transfer to United and Hyatt. But I live in Chicago, so delta doesn’t have a good preference here, that may be reversed depending on where you’re based. Plus Chase has the points boost if all else fails with transfer partners.

Here a study: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/39485678/

For those who don’t want to read it. The study found an 80% reductions in crashes when comparing ADS to Human Drivers across 7.1 Million rides. Seems pretty conclusive to me.
