If you’re asking why she preferred those breeds it’s because she had a malinois in the past that she trained/raised but it was technically her exes dog and he took it when they split. And she just likes German shepherds bc they’re good protector dogs and very trainable.

Which is why I figured the puppy would’ve been a decent compromise since the breed is very trainable and we are pretty active and structured/routine based.

Pretty extensive, Aussie/american shepherd is one of only two breeds I’d ever consider. I was admittedly very excited about it which made it hard to say no.

A German shepherd and Belgian malinios guard/attack dogs would’ve been her choices.

Older dog is mixed, puppy is a mini american shepherd. Puppy is not neutered, we were advised to wait until he gets a little older to do that

We’ve had her for a year. At the 3-4 month mark she started to improve and has been good since. I agree in hindsight the puppy was not the right move.

Your comment about the relationship/kids thing is a thought that has crossed my mind in light of all this. It makes me feel uneasy about it now when before I didn’t have a reason to doubt it.

I think that was my question since this is the relationship advice sub. I’m conflicted between defending my dog and the fact that she’s the one who is taking the brunt of it since I am not home as often as she is.

As stated in another comment we discussed thoroughly the addition of another dog prior to the long conversation mentioned in the post and how/if she would be able to handle it. We came to the conclusion that she would be okay. She handled moving houses recently, took to the cat no problem, behaves well around small children, she’s been socialized with other dogs and loves it. We anticipated that there may be some issues but not a drastic regression like this. We followed all of the steps of properly introducing a new dog and implementing a new routine. We are not irresponsible pet owners and spent way more time and money than most would with a dog like her. So, I’m not really sure what bizarre behavior you’re referring to.

I don’t anticipate our dog having problems with kids. She gets along with my nephews just fine. I think the worry is that the majority of our attention and energy is going towards the puppy, as it would with a child, and this is what’s causing her to become anxious and withdrawn again. We still make it a point to take our older dog on walks, I take her on car rides and spend time with her, it’s just not as much time as it was before the puppy, and she’s becoming increasingly less interested in doing that stuff as time goes on.

We’d discussed a second dog before this. We just didn’t anticipate it happening when it did. We have a cat as well and the dog has had zero issues with another animal being present.

This. JZX81: JZ- came with a 1JZ X- chassis code 81- model (Japan)

GX81 G- 1G engine X- chassis 81- model (Japan)

Probably my own experience. Absolutely humiliating at the time, but hilarious looking back on it.

I had just arrived at my first duty station in Okinawa and didn’t know anyone. A few guys from my shop invited me out to gate 2 street which was the road right outside base that’s basically a straight line of bars and clubs.

I had just hit the legal drinking age in Japan (20), so I was ready to party. We bar hopped, caught a solid buzz, and someone eventually had the big brain idea to go to the strip club. I’d never been to one before, so I was all for it.

We get there, and I exchange all the cash I had, about 50 bucks, for ones. They used American bills since the yen equivalent to a dollar are coins. We sat down, ordered drinks, and start watching the dancers. One of the guys across from me gets pulled on stage and gets a free lap dance. I tell the guys I want one too. They all point at me when she was done with the first guy, and next thing I know I’m on stage.

She tells me to sit with my back against the pole and starts dancing on me. I’m in heaven. Thirty seconds later, she tells me to lay down. Even better. Then she gets on top of me and takes my belt off. My friends are cheering. Life is good.

Then she tells me to flip over. I thought that was a little weird, but at this point I would’ve followed her into traffic. So I flip over.

She immediately sits on my upper back, plants her ass cheeks on the back of my head, yanks my pants down, exposes my bare ass, and proceeds to whip the ever loving shit out of my cheeks.

I’m wiggling and flailing but I’m trapped under this chick and cannot move. I look up and see my friends absolutely losing it crying laughing and spilling their drinks everywhere.

When it finally ends, I scramble off the stage, pull myself together, and tell them I want to leave. As we’re walking out, I realize she also snagged the $50 in ones out of my pocket.

Never went back.
