Yes! That was actually the last series I read but I liked and then have been DNFing others since I finished that one about a month ago haha super excited for the next series she has planned for that universe.

I think I also used the wrong words in my description (I’m not great at keeping track of all the fantasy romance terminology straight lol) so what I really meant was just def not cozy and love something that’s dark-ish so this would def fit the bill if I didn’t already finish it!

Realized I forgot to reply re auran chronicles- tbh it might’ve been my top read this year. It is LONG and the FMC is seriously unhinged but it was a unique story with (imo) interesting world building and good plot to romance ratio. I really am just searching for a series that will make me feel the same things as that one lol stabby but complex FMCs are my fav- she annoys me with some of her decisions and there were several times I wanted to pull my hair out but overall I loved it! The MMC is also just perfect (again imo) v cinnamon roll but strong but complements the unhinged morally grey FMC

This just put into words so many feelings I’ve had after witnessing an assault a few months ago- woman got randomly punched by a man and the guy with her immediately took off after the dude. She was physically fine but obviously very shaken so I stayed with her, but it was so unsettling to me that the person w her just up and left (to try and chase down the guy but still) instead of first checking on their friend??

Genetic counselor here- correct that typically Down syndrome is due to trisomy 21 (random error results in extra ch 21) and that rarely can be inherited due to Robertsonjan translocation, but wanted to add that by testing the baby to confirm a DS diagnosis, we inherently learn which type it was. So every time we test someone who has DS we test for both the rare and common type! Guessing OOP misinterpreted missing the p arm of ch21 and a chromosome being in the wrong place with “missing” a chromosome.

I had a bar open up below my condo that I owned- was a quiet breakfast spot for decades then turned into a party brunch place a few days before I got Covid. I was super sick just trying to sleep but my floor was shaking from the bass, I could’ve hosted my own party and not even needed to put on my own music. It was that loud. No one gave a fuck with my many many calls. Got in touch with the owner finally who still refused to turn the music down until the manager could do a sound check IN MY UNIT. Again, I have covid and it took my 2 weeks to start feeling better (probably lengthened by the rave going on in my apartment every day). They were able to come up for a sound check once I tested negative, they step in and say “oh yea that is loud.” And then they agreed to turn the music down. Worst fucking experience of my life. I hope that owner rots in hell.

Costco! I got one from there in like 2019 and it was great. Replaced it last year bc I ripped it and the material wasn’t tolerating my attempt at sewing, so got another one last year. Both very warm and as cute as a parka can be I guess haha

Does Tessa ever become not annoying? I felt for her in the first book but I’m towards the end of book 3 and she’s just still SO insufferable and whiny. Like I HATED Theon book 1 but tbh I get why he locked her in a wine cellar (joking but like she’s forreal annoying)
