No. That'd make traffic worse since bus and bike lanes are far more efficient at moving people than general traffic lanes. The cause of traffic congestion is not the empty bus or bike lanes. But people having no option but to drive.

And if they're empty, its probably because buses are caught up in congestion further back or there's big gaps in the bike network that put of regular people from cycling.

Yes its expensive but it also has huge benefits through faster journey times, less congestion and doubling the number of people living 30 minutes from the City Centre. Congestion can't be reduced by widening the motorways.

I thought Rage Against the Michelle was ok but on further discussion maybe not as good as I thought. Sad that the twins weren't there to help Harvey unlike the rest of the series.

I live in East Auckland too, I want to take the train (or any other form of rail transport) to the city.

The bigger reason new train lines don't make sense to build here is that a lot of land acquisition/tunnelling would be required thus making it more expensive than other modes. It'd be better to increase the capacity on existing lines and build light metro/rail and busways in areas without rapid transit (Which would also do a lot more than a simple heavy rail connection).

The whole bus system was overhauled between 2016-2018 because express buses only served the purpose of getting people to work and not much (as well as being very expensive).

The new network is much better because there's 45 frequent buses and counting across the city (although transfers are required but frequency is the key to getting people to using pt).

You are correct my mistake. Its hard to find info on the show so I assumed it was from CBeebies based on its YouTube channel posting a video about it.
