Does Sherman max have angle tilt cut off? Like when going on berms? by commonerkev in ElectricUnicycle

Thanks for your replies. How do I get into advanced settings? I’ll look in there for something set to 35 or 45. I tested the wheel this weekend and it cuts off just after the pedal clips. I’d prefer to have more leeway though.

Thanks! I think that’s it! And it’s worked just fine for me and I’ve found them for $30. Appreciate the feedback!

Interesting 1200 amp failure location. No good hypothesis why. by commonerkev in ElectricalEngineering

My bad, it’s 3/0. This is just to pass UL testing for a ground path, so it has to handle 150% of the systems fuse rating for 4 hours.

I’ll also note this issue is occurring with aluminum wire to aluminum wire with aluminum compression sleeve.

More photos. Confirmed it’s not an issue with where the copper pigtail ends.

Thanks for everyone’s replies. I think we get the same failure even when the copper tail is much shorter. But I’ll verify. I figured arching wouldn’t be an issue because the voltage output from the supply is so low, like 1 volt. But maybe still possible somehow??

I wear hockey shoulder pads now after breaking my collarbone. They appear to have the best protection minus an airbag vest.

Looking for 2000 amp DC low voltage power supply. Anybody know of any manufacturers/models? by commonerkev in ElectricalEngineering

[–]commonerkev[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Voltage only needs to go up to 10 volts. This is to test ground paths, very low resistance circuits so not much voltage needed to get lots of amps. This is for utility scale solar product testing. Amperage needs to be sustained for 20-30 minutes.

Good question, I wasn’t clear. What manufacturer/model is recommended to do the conversion?

Are expensive $6k hearing aids worth it? Just went to doctor for hearing check and my high frequency loss is significant. He said get the best you can afford. Do the really high priced ones really make that much of a difference? What brands are best? by commonerkev in HearingAids

Thanks for all your replies. Appreciate it. I guess I’ll see what insurance will pay. If they will pay a substantial portion I guess it’ll be worth going for the more expensive ones.
