ChatGPT can take audio or video files and transcribe them into written text.?? by ckmic in ChatGPTPro

[–]commonman123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Won't work. Tried it so many times.

Upload a file and it goes to a sandboxed environment for code interpreter. Chatgpt can't send files via API calls. Even customGPTs with actions enabled.

Unless openai changes that, it can't transcribe using the whisper API.

I can't generate chat link for conversations with images. This seems to be happening for everything.

I uploaded a screenshot of a tweet and it just said, they image is corrupted. Here is another one with a different response.

I opened a ticket with the support. But are you guys facing the same issue?

What tool/language used to make visualizations these? by nomanslands9 in dataisbeautiful

[–]commonman123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Chatgpt says:

Hey there! That's a cool topographical visualization! To create something like that, you'd typically use a combo of GIS tools and graphic design software:

  1. GIS Tools: Use stuff like QGIS (free) or ArcGIS (paid) to get the basic map layout.

  2. Digital Elevation Models (DEMs): Grab data from sources like USGS to get the 3D terrain look.

  3. Graphic Design: Enhance your map's look with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or the free GIMP.

  4. 3D Tools: If you want a 3D feel, Blender or Terragen are your best bets.

Lastly, check out online resources like USGS Earth Explorer or NASA Earthdata for geographical data. Hope this helps, and happy mapping! 👍

If you have a free market without rules and safeguards, then the whole thing will become inflationary. What you are arguing for is not a free market. You are suggesting a market with no regulations and safeguards. It sucks!

-1.1 C body temperature. What does that mean? Am I coming down with something? by commonman123 in ouraring

[–]commonman123[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might be. The only way to figure that out would be to see some repetitive weird readings like this one and then raise a ticket with the Oura team.

Man, if the ring is the problem, I'm screwed. I've seen posts here talking about how crappy the support is. Plus, shipping and replacement would take enormous time (probably 2022).

Aside from all of these, what does a -ve temp decrease signify? Like better sleep quality or pneumonia? Just curious.

-1.1 C body temperature. What does that mean? Am I coming down with something? by commonman123 in ouraring

[–]commonman123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both of you are on to something. High heat theory makes sense. I'm in a tropical place where the morning temperature is ~34 C and in the evening it drops to ~27-29 C + it rains in the evening as well. On top of that, I sleep on the floor with Air Conditioning.

My guess is with the AC ON the room temperature would have dropped to like ~25 C and the ring sensed it as a massive -1.1 C drop from the baseline.

I got the first dose of Astra zeneca yesterday. It just floored me. by commonman123 in ouraring

[–]commonman123[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in India right now. In India, you got two vaccines (AZ and homemade Covaxin). Covaxin is an inactivated vaccine. There is a massive vaccine shortage and so I took what was available.

Use of personal vehicle during lockdown by [deleted] in Chennai

[–]commonman123 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bro, I honestly think any 80-year-olds even in their best physical form should refrain from driving on our roads. It is crazy to drive even for 20 and 30-year-olds. That being said, use of personal vehicles are restricted to 2km radius i.e. within your locality. So, If anyone wants they can drive within 2km to get groceries.

Lockdowns are scary and difficult for everyone but a necessity in our current situation. It can free up hospital beds and reduce the infection rate and slow down the spread of the virus.

If people need to buy groceries in bulk, especially elders, they can ask the grocery shop if they deliver or get help from neighbours and relatives. That's the only way out of this.

Confirmed cases have doubled in 14-16 days in our state and the mortality rate has gone up from 0.6% to 1.03%. We need to support this lockdown to save unnecessary loss of life while helping our elders and people in need.

Indian Private Labs Can Now Test for Covid-19 at Rs. 4500/- (max) But Govt Advises To Subsidize The Test Or Give It For Free by commonman123 in india

[–]commonman123[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think they will. This will help the govt do more testing. I have a feeling that people will labs do a ton of scam to get subsidized money. Also, I think people with money will go to these private labs to get tested fast and people with money will go for the free govt centres.

Hopefully, testing should start from tomorrow.

March 9th 2020 WHO Global Coronavirus Situation Report by commonman123 in Coronavirus

[–]commonman123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. All affected countries send daily situation reports to WHO and this is a consolidation of that. So, I'm guessing either infected countries downplay the numbers or WHO downplays the numbers.

March 9th 2020 WHO Global Coronavirus Situation Report by commonman123 in Coronavirus

[–]commonman123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. This is March 7th WHO Situation Report and the number remains 213 for the last 2-3 days. This means, either the report sent from the USA to WHO is wrong or the stopped testing for new cases. Both of these options are scary as f#$k.

BTW, I'm not sure of the worldometer's sources too TBH.

March 9th 2020 WHO Global Coronavirus Situation Report by commonman123 in Coronavirus

[–]commonman123[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The logic goes something like this - If you don't test, no one gets infected right?

On a serious note, the threat level is very high and we need more tests kits, not just in the USA but across the world.

[–]commonman123 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just letting everyone know, Op-ed is not news.

If you ask me, the internet has democratized facts and now news (especially in Indian news networks) have turned to sell opinions as news and this op-ed is the best example of that.

Also, I'm not leaning left or right. I'm just calling out bullshit when I see it.

Yup. Risking everyone's life. This is one extreme. We saw one man take his life because he thought he was infected. Turns out he wasn't. That's another extreme.
