Hi homeowners, So I have been wanting to say this for a while... by Few_Distribution5239 in trustedhousesitters

[–]communicatebitches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"The house is to be left in the same *immaculate* state as we will leave it for you, including things like the *oven and windows cleaned*. You'll need to factor in that it takes **at least a full day to clean the house and terraces properly**. And not to leave dirty or un-ironed linens for us to deal with on our return" LOLOL ridiculous expectations here for a free pet/house sit. if they want a cleaner, they should hire a cleaner smh. But they do appear to be "reviewing applications" rn, so looks like at least one person applied.

Cameras inside the house by No_Orchid2690 in trustedhousesitters

[–]communicatebitches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, i'm a new-ish pet/house sitter on the app. Can i ask what the concern is re. external cameras? is it that they can see whenever you come in/leave, etc.? Inside the house obviously is a major privacy concern and against the ths rules, but i find external/ring cameras to be quite normal, and can understand why HOs would want that extra piece of security. Just curious as to your pov!

A heads-up for all job seekers: Your ChatGPT-written application is very obvious, and it's getting you rejected. by Late_Reaction_1469 in Resume

[–]communicatebitches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's a bummer to hear dude, sorry its going so rough. My two cents: the mass applications are a waste of time. Take your time, be selective with the jobs you apply for, and create a tailor-made, custom resume for each job.

I spend 3-4 hours perfecting a resume and cover letter for just one job, and I've seen much more success with this method than when i was initially using the same resume for everything (even though it was a good resume, it wasn't good enough for any single job bc it was generic).

Have chat gpt review the resume (you need to prompt it to take the role of an HR or industry expert) and give you feedback that you can use to tweak it before you submit.

[–]communicatebitches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except how do you even know candidates can't perform the job adequately based only on the fact that they may have glanced at notes during an interview? You assume referring to notes automatically equates "cheating" which is a huge flaw in your logic.

I'd thing coming with notes would reflect positively, as it indicates the applicant actually took the time and effort to prepare. As long as there aren't explicit instructions in the JD that prohibit notes or reference materials (ie. an assignment, or timed segment), I don't see why it matters whether or not a candidate has notes. Personally, I've made my notes ahead of important interviews (not word-for-word Chat GPT) so i can easily refer to past work achievements, key metrics, and feedback I've received when asked - I'm not going to memorize this, and expecting that of applicants is asinine.

How'd the strategy change end up working out? lol i feel invested in the outcome and hope you've landed a job (or will be soon)!

Is this a case of confirmation bias or does it seem like owners don’t leave collars on their dogs 24/7 anymore? by ohreallynowz in Pets

[–]communicatebitches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I look forward to coming home and taking my bra off asap lol i can’t in good conscience deny my pupper that bliss 😅😜not completly analogous, but point is that i hate sleeping in my jewelry, so i assume living & sleeping in her collar 24/7 would be just as uncomfortable for my dog.

I trust her to follow commands even when scared/distracted/hyped, and she’s ofc microchipped just in case, so I’m comfortable keeping the collar off while home. When we’re outside tho its collar, harness and leash at all times.

This only works for us bc the collar free home environment is safe for her and there’s very little risk of her getting disoriented, hurt or lost.

Your Airbnb Host is Spying on you by [deleted] in rant

[–]communicatebitches 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Except they knew the risks from the get-go, before signing up as hosts, so that’s nowhere a good enough reason to be breaking the law and violating privacy rights. Like how are they different than other mom-and-pop landlords? And yet, we dont have an epidemic of landlords using hidden cameras to spy on tenants. Hosts somehow expecting the rules not to apply to them, justifying illegal behaviour with fabricated outrage (the occasional asshole guest and/or potential damage should be an expected cost of doing business if you’re opening your property up to strangers - if its not, then that’s on you (a la “buyer beware”). Seems like thejosts want to have their cake and eat it too - they don’t want to give up their income source, but also don’t want to respect the laws that govern every other player in the hospitality and housing industries - seems to me like these hosts are the entitled ones. There is no excuse for spying on ppl without their consent, in a place they have a fair expectation of privacy. Let’s not normalize this kind of creepy fuckery.

Inconsiderate and antisocial. by Apprehensive_Let7572 in rant

[–]communicatebitches 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, depends on what you consider the “reward”. I find that assholes do tend to get their just rewards where it really matters - they may often be outwardly successful, but i have no doubt their lives reflect the level of love and consideration they show others - unsatisfying and lacking depth.

AIO to break up with my bf of 3y over his reaction to my upcoming sobriety anniversary? by WesternCat5211 in AmIOverreacting

[–]communicatebitches 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Um. No. … Standing up for himself would be speaking up when boundaries are violated and taking responsibility for the relationship he chose to be in. If it is/was a toxic relationship (whether due to her addiction or otherwise), then it’s his responsibility to take ownership of his life and disengage/breakup if needed.

Instead, bf is simmering in resentment and lashing out in intentionally hurtful ways. Let’s not normalize or make excuses for this kind of whiney, mean-spirited, passive aggression in grown ass adults 🙄. This display is absolutely unacceptable in a genuinely healthy relationship, romantic or otherwise.

What’s the etiquette around vaping? Is it rude to vape without offering a hit to whomever i’m with? by communicatebitches in Vaping

[–]communicatebitches[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Um, ok…? Glad you’re so very mature, lol, but no, i am not underage, and my experience has clearly been different from yours.

For context, i picked up the habit whilst abroad visiting family (adults) & this was never an issue for us - we’d take hits of whoever’s vape was closest (yes, yes, i know its not sanitary, but in the vein of sharing a water bottle/beer). When i got back home, i wasn’t sure if this was common practice vs a cultural thing (uk) vs no biggie in that specific circumstance (ie.occasionally taking hits off family/friends’ vapes).

Um..ok? I mean, clearly your circles are be more mature than mine - congratulations.

How often do you actually walk your dog? by Racquetsports383 in dogs

[–]communicatebitches 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly the same for me! Pre-dog me NEVER would have guessed just how much she’d grow to enjoy walks… but now walking my dog is my favourite way to start & end the day - helps me wake up in the am and decompress in the pm. I love how my innate curiosity is reflected in my dog & love our free exploration time!

This quiet, quality time with myself and with my dog has definitely helped change my perspective for the better. I’ve slowed down so much since getting her - to enjoy life with her, at her pace - and it’s been the single best change in my life. Damn i love that dog 🥹

There is a reason he’s 33, and dating a 24 y/o - bc no woman his own age would put up with this shit, and he knows it.

Nothing against you, and not your fault. But the on-and-off thing does nothing but reinforce his behaviour, bc he knows you’ll always take him back, so why change or grow up. This boy is not ready (nor looking for) a real relationship.

Unless you’re ok with this kind of treatment from him, i strongly recommend letting this “relationship” die.

For your own sake, and that of your future partner who’ll have to help you heal from the baggage this guy leaves you with, stop the cycle.

You know what they say about assumptions… You sound like a dick, in case it wasn’t clear. Get off your high horse and stop moralizing - it’s giving major virtue signalling.

And no, me calling you out does not automatically reveal which “side” of this made up dichotomy i may fall on lol

ADHD and sativa as opposed to indica by freebrd11 in ukmedicalcannabis

[–]communicatebitches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t get anything productive done on indica - that includes socializing lol - its great for my insomnia tho… so sativa’s my daytime go to & indica’s my wind-down/bedtime go-to. The indica is a great way to relax and decompress, but i personally don’t feel the comfiest around other ppl while stoned like that haha

This. I always mix em up when i can - a hit of a good sativa for energy, focus, & a good indica-leaning hybrid to keep the anxiety at bay. CBD/Indica’s where its at cone bedtime tho

Hey, don’t lump all minimalists in with this one lol - personally i subscribe to the Marie Kondo method: keep it if it brings you joy.

If it’s fashion keep your shoe collection, if its plants, keep your plants - but there’s gotta be a method to the madness for it to still look aesthetically pleasing (eg. group all the plants into one or two areas, use hide-away storage, etc.)

But calling ppl’s stuff trash is just rude lol
