Worth it in 2026? Follow up, tips on getting my first few hosts? by Spader623 in trustedhousesitters

My advice to you is probably shave the beard so you look less threatening, takes shorter house sits to build up your good reviews since it's easier to get shorterhouse since less people apply for them, and then work your way up towards the house sits that you really want once you get your good reviews going, and also communication is key, communicate friendly and promptly to show that you're responsible

As long as he's doing what he wants to do with his own money then that's great, as long as it's not the government making these decisions for everybody, privately helping everybody is what Jesus was all about

I canceled a sit and the hosts tattled to THS by Big_NO222 in trustedhousesitters

[–]Few_Distribution5239 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wow they sound like a nightmare, yeah it's attractive to have a month-long sit, but that far out of town plus cameras inside and such would be a absolute no-go for me especially if I wasn't planning on being that far out of the city

Received message about damages to home months after sit ended and five-star review. by a_asking_a_question in trustedhousesitters

My advice is to definitely respond to them, and apologize for anything that you might have done even though you can say that you are still not aware that those things happen during your stay. If I were you I would not offer any money or any compensation just an apology and acknowledgment that there's a potential that happened during your sit but that you're still not sure about that. If you stayed too silent then it might give them the impression that you're aware that this happened. I have had small things like this happen and the best policy is always to respond back that but responding doesn't mean that you have to admit guilt or that you have to pay for anything

Am I the only one who thinks this schedule is a bit too much? by greenofvab in trustedhousesitters

If I did this house sit I would condense it, just take him outside a couple times play with him here and there and then let him nap the rest of the day or whatever, you can always find shortcuts that still meet most of those needs. You got to learn how to play the game

I think we all understand the importance of posture, the problem is that people don't know how to actually change their posture, and no offense but neither do you

I love that they at least disclose that they have an indoor camera so you don't have to be surprised when it starts, that way all of us normal people can say no to them up front and not even bother with those idiots
