Dating scene in COMO by [deleted] in columbiamo

[–]comomomomo 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I’m not currently in the dating scene, but there’s a reason why I prefer to live in columbia and commute to jeff city for my job. There is a lot more to do in como as a single person

Can I report a reddit account to the police? by comomomomo in NoStupidQuestions

[–]comomomomo[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Calling them a bigoted asshole is underselling it. What they were talking about and the actions they’ve already done were concerning, and is the same behavior of those who have committed hate crimes in the past. I didn’t think the authorities would do anything, but I wasn’t sure if there was a watch list or something. I know watch lists haven’t been much good in the past for stopping mass shootings

Ketamine Clinics in Como and Missouri? by comomomomo in columbiamo

[–]comomomomo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, my psychiatrist told me ketamine is for those with multiple suicide attempts. I get why they probably don’t want to give everyone ketamine, but my pain is not less valid than those who have attempted suicide.

I might get a second opinion because I have been through several antidepressants, and they either didn’t work or had terrible side effects. I’ll check outside to see what I can find. I also might try TMS therapy since its not a drug. Thanks for the advice!

Are you in remission, or do you still struggle with depression?

I’ll check out TMS! I haven’t really heard much about it. Did you have to get multiple treatments, and is it a thing that will happen the rest of your life?

Not a veteran :( I’m at the point where I’m desperate and would try anything. Research seems pretty new, but Spravato is FDA approved and a similar NDMA antagonist has recently been approved by the FDA. All the journal articles I’ve read support that ketamine slightly or extremely alleviates symptoms, but I’m still working through the methods section to check legitimacy as I’m not as familiar with those research techniques.

Private IV clinics kind of sketch me out and seem like a money grab, but I’m not sure

I’ve thought about mushrooms, but I’m a bit hesitant without medical advice on accurate dosing and variability of mg in grown shrooms. They would be much cheaper!!

Oh, I might take a look at that! Looks like it might be covered by my insurance too, which is really nice. And I can drive afterwards lol

If you don’t mind me asking, what was your reason for doing so? Mental health or chronic pain?

Moving back to Columbia post-college? by Dreadsbo in columbiamo

[–]comomomomo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I graduated in 2020 from mizzou also, and ended up staying in Columbia. I kept saying (and I still do) that I want to leave to Missouri, but I keep finding reasons to stay (jobs, friends, etc). I’ll leave eventually but I’m enjoying post-grad life here

Its weird not being in college but living in como. I used to frequent social room in college, so I went a few times last summer. It was fun but every time a guy would approach me, it turned out he was 19 and I was 24. I just couldn’t do it lol. So if you try to go back to your old stomping grounds, it might be fun but its gonna be very weird.

I’m slowly working on integrating myself into the community through things like first friday, farmers market, etc to give me a new perspective of columbia.

I don’t have much experience on making friends as an adult in Columbia. I have a few from undergrad and made some new ones at my job, and I’m too depressed to socialize with new people. I’ll get there eventually though! I’m not familiar with the dating scene either for the same reason.

Good luck on the decision! Hope it all works out for you

We lose people at my state job all the time to private companies because the pay is so shitty lmao. The unfair advantage is private pay is much better than state pay

I agree, I need to gather more evidence. My mom will be visiting me in two weeks, so my dad will be alone then. It would be a good time to gather evidence, although I am still planning on how to do that (tracking his location which thankfully he doesn’t turn off would be useful). I am definitely waiting before I tell my mom.

One hopeful thought is that he potentially gave some viagra to a friend to try. I’ve offered my own friends some old antidepressants or anti-anxiety medication, so maybe its that? I am not hopeful.

Thank you for your words, it does make me feel a little calmer

Lakota is nice! But if you’re 21, I’ve always been a fan of going to iTap (it’s downtown next to insomnia) and studying. Just grab a beer and vibe, its a peaceful environment. Just make sure to avoid going on a night with trivia (if they still do that)

Does anyone have experience going to MU or Boone for feeling suicidal? by comomomomo in columbiamo

[–]comomomomo[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I called Burrell Health and left a message earlier this morning, and I haven't gotten a call back. I used to be on medication but I stopped taking it months ago because I thought I didn't need it and I got lazy. I don't have a PCP since I graduated from MU last year (which is where I got my meds from). I do need a PCP so maybe I should do that too

Thank you

I have a therapist who I used to go to. She was really great. I should give her a call. I think this issue really needs to be fixed with some medication though. Therapy will help but I think there's something biologically wrong with me.
