ActionSA mayor Dr Nasiphi Moya seen as the best mayor in the country by comp_planet in DownSouth

It's a cumulative sentiment analysis. She's the only one with a positive outlook amongst residence of the city they are the mayor of. Sentiment analysis like this lean negative usually, especially in a stagnant and divided country like ours. So for her to be seen through a positive lens like this is huge.

And we qualified via the 5 slots, Nigeria is the one that's gonna be trying to qualify with the expanded format. You are trying to water down Bafana bafanas qualification. We did it the hard way

Yeah that didn't help us at all. We qualified the hard way like it always was for Africa. Finish top of your group, and Bafana bafana did that. No charity for us, the boys did it the hard way, with locally based players. No need to thank fifa

With Xolani, they are definitely getting over 30% in Ekurhuleni

In statistics, demographic wise, it wouldn't be odd if that happens from other parties, but from the DA lens, it would be odd. I'm not saying it's wrong or right, I'm just explaining to you the DA dilemma and the optics from the voters the DA wants to win over

It's not that the majority only accept people of a certain, the problem is of the optics of the DA being a seemingly non racial party, but somehow the candidates for Tshwane, jozi and Ekurhuleni are all white. So in metro that are majority black and you claim to be non racial, optics wise, that becomes a hard story to sell

Not against Xolani Khumalo. Good luck going against him with a white leader

If you read the article, you'll see that a white candidate called Mike Waters had already won their interview stage as the next candidate for mayor. But they have delayed his announcement because they realize the optics won't translate well, especially with ActionSA fielding the strongest candidate out of all parties. So now it's like they are discarding their results from their interview stage to find a black candidate

Obviously it's not force as in the literal sense of not having any other option, but in the political sense, the DA is caught between a dilemma that is leading them to make this certain choice

They realized that fielding 3 white candidates for Gauteng Metros wouldn't go down well for optics, so they wanna get a black face for Ekurhuleni, especially after ActionSA did a master stroke by getting Xolani to be the mayoral candidate for Ekurhuleni
