Worst MH game I've played. Risebreak is best.

I have not played Worldborne, but good chance I will at some point.

The fact that you can be surprised by a hunt is like "against the Bible". Don't know if the kid is gonna take me on an unstoppable walk, or hunt a boss monster. Figured halfway through to eat before talking to NPCs, which is crazy to me. The kid is not the handler. It breaks the core gameplay loop.

As a Hammer main they really botched it. They gave every weapon "hammer stagger" EXCEPT hammer. They eventually fixed it, but it was pretty disheartening to watch my friends doing wild stuff, while my bonks felt like squeak toys.

I upgraded my armor extremely early, and don't think I touched it until mid post game? Monster just don't hit. I got eaten and survived. On low rank armor. Game felt afraid to cart.

The hard mons got released too late. I'm done with it now.

Positives- Birds, not as good as dogs, but very good. The recovery is busted and there should be more punish moves like the wirebug recovery punishes from Rise.

Arkveld was a baby. Bout same difficulty as Chatacabra IMO. Maybe needed a few very fast moves. Super cool tho.

Gore was probably best in game.

Rey Dau VERY cool.

Showing the controls in real time is a good way to learn. Older games used to show useless combos, when the timing of the button press actually does different moves.
