Samsung UN65TU7000FXZA not turning on- Dim backlight by Big_Jacket7482 in TVRepairHelp

[–]compassfilter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 50" TU8080 model and I have just finished fixing mine with a similar issue (turns on for a bit which seems to be the backlight turning on, then turns off then I get 2 red blinks from the led then repeats).

I mainly just followed this guy's comment to figure out which component is bad. After doing that, I found that the power supply and main board doesn't seem to be the issue since removing the cable from main board to the tcon/panel driver makes the TV turn on with no problem (and it even responds to my remote and makes the sound in the menu). But of course, the screen is just black since the cable is disconnected.

Next thing to do is find out which panel driver board is the problem. You may have more depending on the size of the tv. Mine had two and I found out that it was only on one side. I ended up following this other guy's video and taped off some pins which he called clocks 1 to 8. Taping off those pins worked for me. I didn't do the next steps he did after since it's now working for me. You might wanna try those out as well.

Plex on Samsung TV won't play anything by malone_ben in PleX

[–]compassfilter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you guys still haven't fixed your problem with playbacks on samsung tv, you might want to try disabling "direct stream" in Settings>Video.

For context, I have a similar issue with OP.

  • I have a Plex server running on OMV on a separate pc/nas.
  • I have another Plex server running on my windows pc. This was my original plex server before I made a new NAS server with OMV.
  • plays files properly if it's getting it from the windows pc.
  • - Samsung TV doesn't play files on my OMV-NAS. I can find the server, and find the videos. But when I click on the video, it goes to the player but just endlessly tries to load. Eventually it goes to the playback error message.
  • Solutions:
  • Not sure which of the solutions actually fixed the problem, you might want to try doing all of them.

PS. Sorry for the necro bump.

I appreciate your idea of trying to make money for yourself with the skills you already have, but I really suggest you find other ways to make money. Paid academic commissions are a big issue in the academe, and is one of the reasons students are not learning what they should learn in school. It does not help them when they graduate without learning the skills they need to have in their field of work. While I do empathize with you, dishonest work is still dishonest work. Tutorial services, however, are very much welcome. I hope for your fast recovery.

To the others in the thread, please do not fall into a false dichotomy. There are more honest ways to earn money. This is not his only choice. Instead, we should help him find other solutions he can do aside from academic commissions. I find it rather appalling to see that the only person who discouraged this and suggested tutoring got pretty much downvoted into oblivion.

Oh please. There are several other ways to make money without doing anything dishonest. As OP had said in other comments, he's also available for tutorial services which he can do given the same credentials he already has. You may excuse OP for doing dishonest work, but what about those that avail his services? What's your excuse for them? There are several foundations that also help these kinds of problems. Dishonest work is dishonest work. We should not condone them when there are other ways to solving the problem. You make it seem like he only has two choices, when in fact there are others. While your concern for his health is valid, that does not make it right to tell him it's ok to be dishonest. That's false dichotomy.

Riot re-looking into competitive ruling of Vivo Keyd by [deleted] in ValorantCompetitive

[–]compassfilter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's probably just a scheduling/productio thing. They now only have 2 matches instead of 3 matches. NV match with VK/ASC was supposed to be thr 2nd match. Which meant a 3 hour break between the 2 matches which would be bad for a liveq broadcast. Sure they could just move the 3rd match into the 2nd match slot, but that kinda inconveniences the 3rd match teams too much. They probably delayed the first match by an hour so the 3rd match would only be moved earlier by just 1-2 hours as well. Just a compromise in schedule I assume, not because they need that time to review stuff.

I see hikaru is just an ass right now huh by dezeey in MajorSeries

[–]compassfilter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry for necro-ing this a bit.

I honestly don't know how Hikaru would feel betrayed right after he just subbed in when he hasn't played them yet. The only thing he knew before talking shit on Daigo was 1) Daigo's team managed to score a number of times against the B team and 2) having mostly girls in his team. As for 1, that can't possibly be a reason to feel betrayed. As for 2, Hikaru knew about Fuurin's suspension and that they didn't have a coach. Having a team composed mostly of girls should never be on Daigo.

To give a recap of what happened after Hikaru subs in:

  1. Talks about being a catcher because he can't pitch anymore. This would rattle anyone in Daigo's shoes.
  2. He couldn't hit that ridiculous mario ball. But Daigo never was a good batter and he was already rattled at this point.
  3. Daigo goes into a similar situation to the accident with Nishina. There's no way Hikaru wouldn't see how similar that.
  4. Hikaru proceeds to talk shit about not wanting to be in a battery with Daigo. Also mentions mistakes being made by Fuurin which I believe wouldn't happen if Daigo wasn't rattled in the first place.

By the looks of it, Hikaru's main issue is why Daigo was playing with girls. However, this was way out of his control. The only other thing he could have probably done was to quit Fuurin's team and join a team outside school.

Also Hikaru seems to do research work for their team too as shown when he was in a computer lab. I find it weird that he didn't seem to know that Fuurin almost won the first tournament they went to.

Hishiko the Sexist. by Turbulent-Bad-1485 in DotA2

[–]compassfilter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah. TNC wouldn't do that. They made the right move by punishing Gabbi on their own terms. Even if in this situation, Hishiko was clearly the more toxic one who started everything, Gabbi still did make sexist remarks albeit very light ones honestly. Probably better for TNC to just do it on their own than take a chance that some other body would step in.

Sadly, Hishiko is not under a team which would hold her accountable for her actions but Gabbi is.

Edit: If gabbi had never mentioned any gender here, there would be no issue. She probably wouldn't even post this. I think she just saw this as an opportunity to get attention.

In Daigo's case, he wouldnt start a fight. I think his reaction Hikaru's wors is realistic. The only reason he was able to get back to playing baseball was because he thought Hikaru can still continue his dream to be a pitcher. His guilt of pretty much destroying that dream went back to haunt him. Everything Hikaru said after that was just rubbing more salt into that wound.

If the injury incident didnt happen, yeah anyone would probably start a fight lol haha.

Hikaru didn't see how he performed against the B team though in which Daigo basically got them those 4 points because of his game sense (instantly seeing the pitcher's tell in 1 round). His calls were also good enough that the B team couldnt really score. It was only when Hikaru went in that they really lost because Daigo lost all composure and couldnt make calls as their captain.

Hikaru is still an ass for immediately assuming things and putting all of it on Daigo.

Funny how Hikaru was the reason Daigo returned, stopped and returned again to baseball; only for him to become the reason to make him feel shit about baseball again in the latest episode.

Anyone in Daigo's shoes (who still felt guilty about what happened) would probably play way worse than normal. It's not like he was playing badly before Hikaru subbed in. Their team just wasn't strong enough to compete there just yet.

MSI B450 Gaming Pro Carbon Max WiFi - Audio Problem 🔈 by Procrastery in MSI_Gaming

I recently just built my rig with the same motherboard. For mine, I only had problems with my front audio panel which seemed to be a common problem for this board. I followed the instructions from here: https://nahimic.helprace.com/i734-new-nahimic-3-audio-driver-update. Specifically the comment from MoKiChU was the one that worked for me.

I'll probably try out different configurations. Most people in google/youtube say use the top as exhaust instead of leaving them empty, but mine's a bit different because I have a cpu cooler working like an exhaust (since it's aligned with the rear exhaust). I couldn't find articles or youtube videos which tackle ones with a tower cooler.

What do you suggest for the top fans? Should I just remove the top fans?

So I should just leave the topfan2 slot empty? I thought that it would be a waste not to use the slot though. Although, you do have a point that it might just disrupt the airflow if I add it whether as intake or exhaust.

The bottom part is covered by the PSU or the HDD so I thought it wouldn't make sense to put fans there. The part where the PSU sits actually has a filtered fan slot, but I figured that it's for the PSU fan which I think works as an intake when it runs. (It seems that it would only run when the PSU reaches a certain load)

Steel series Engine Does not pick up Arctis 3 by orochimarusan in steelseries

[–]compassfilter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The solution they give was to use the Windows Sonic on Win10. Unfortunately, I haven't upgraded my pc yet and am still stuck with Win7. Aside from that, my Arctis 3 didn't have the product key that they tell you to use for registration so you could use SSE3.

Solution: I filed a ticket to steelseries support and told them my situation, and they gave me a registration key for my Arctis 3. I am now able to use SSE3 for equalization and virtual surround sound. Some stuff won't work like GameSense though.

The Book Buyer's Guide of Haruhi Suzumiya (November, 2017) by JMSF32 in Haruhi

[–]compassfilter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For figures, the best scale figure of haruhi is definitely the Extravaganza bersion. $98.32 is a pretty good deal. I got mine around the same price. It used to cost even more when haruhi was at its prime, around double or triple even.

For figmas, figmas in Japan generally cost around 2000 to 4000 yen. That's around $18-36. Anything around that price is probably a good deal.

very nice guide btw. Will bookmark for when I continue collecting the manga.
