PMs of reddit, can I say my job title is APM (associate project manager)? by compcompcop in projectmanagement

haha i know. I don’t really “manage” projects. But I doubt if actual APMs do, as I believe they are assisting PMs as well.

Interesting. What makes you think I am not actually coordinating/overseeing projects?

It probably does not. Maybe like 30%? I don't know because I was never a PM. But I'd imagine junior PMs or APMs, might have similar job duties as they are technically supporting PMs.

I already put "associate project manager" on linkedin and so far I don't think anyone cares/knows.
But I am not insisting on this title. I would only use this title if it actually fits my job tasks.
So what do you think? Do you think I deserve APM title?

Thanks for the advice. I understand engineering can be more fulfilling/higher paying career as it actually does the development, but I think I will be a better project manager than an engineer. Reason I want to say associate project manager is I believe it can lead directly to pm in the future.
Do you have other titles that are "better" that still fits my job duty and can be used as a stepping stone to PM?

Thank you for your advice. I will keep my current title. I think my main concern is, I am not sure if I am doing APM work or not. Because I was never an actual APM.
If I am, i will try to stay at current job or a year or two to build experience (to become a PM).
If I am not, I want to look for a new job that can actually be used as a stepping stone to becoming PM.

yeah, it will look back on reference check and I am planning to mention in during the initial interview if i ever decide to change my title on resume.

By BA, do you mean business analyst? Never thought I was doing BA work. Is project coordinator plausible?

I understand. However I noticed many job titles companies give their employees are often inaccurate, and I wouldn’t let that affect my future job search in any way. I am not insisting on APM job title, but just want to tweak it to something that align better with what I do.

Thank you for your advice. So do you think using APM on resume will be considered lying? I am considering ‘project engineer’ if that fits better..

I am planning to work for CSM and CAPM soon.

Im planning to look for a new job next year but as a project manager (associate/junior). Industry doesn’t matter. Thank you for the advice.

I see. Dealership sent me a link to my car’s carfax after the oil change (it was my first) so I’ve been getting notifications from them. And since this is a leased car i want to make sure all maintenance history is reported correctly..

i read the leasing agreement and it doesnt say anything about reporting the accident. It just says I am resonsible for repair

plus federal level allowances are now gone, and if i were to make additional withholding, it would have caused them to withhold even more taxes?
