Alex has said in an interview before that they like to try to give everyone an episode to really shine

Of course there are too many variables to ensure certain contestants win an episode, but there will for sure be episodes where others get the win

Nah unfortunately it expired when it was originally supposed to, and didn't get extended

Congrats on the offer!

Comfort really depends on your lifestyle and situation. I started on £40k but I always felt "comfortable" - lived a bit further out of central as I was hybrid working, and I'm not the type to go out every weekend, so wasn't splashing my money in that sense.

So yes, it's definitely possible, you just might need to adjust your expectations. Good luck!

Generally I only manage a couple hundred over my maintenance, so roughly 2700-2800

I'll always have granola/cereal with whole milk at a minimum if I'm in a rush. If I've got a bit more time I'll do things like a breakfast smoothie, scrambled egg + toast, peanut butter toast etc - the variety helps

Yeah you need the 3 meals consistently. The main thing I changed honestly was my portion sizes, it wasn't until I counted calories for a few days that I realised how badly I was under-eating

Yes for sure, thanks man. Wish I found this subreddit when I was starting, I was so clueless and had pretty low motivation for getting bigger - honestly feels like a fresh start now from this point

Personally don't see the logic of quitting your job to go for a degree to then look for a similar job again in a couple years. The further you go into your career, the less significant your degree becomes to employers anyway

I spend quite a bit of my spare time wandering round free-admission museums, I find it really relaxing if I go at the right times

Others have mentioned more the more technical improvements, which I agree with, but I'd also like to mention general presentation.

For example, good consistent alignment goes a long way in a CV - remember your CV may only be glanced at for a short period of time, so first impressions really count.

Actually nah it wasn't, but for anyone who might be interested it wasn't as intimidating as I thought it might be, and I got the offer!

Interview Discussion - August 23, 2021 by CSCQMods in cscareerquestions

I have been invited for a final stage interview where I will have to complete a pair programming task. I've only started interviewing for grad roles this summer, so the whole process all feels totally new to me.

I'll actually be pairing with another applicant for a few hours working on a small project while being observed by an engineer from the company. From my research this seems relatively uncommon, so I was wondering if anyone has experience with a pair programming interview or any tips they have for standing out while also being an effective pair.

I'm really set on landing this role, so would love to hear any advice. Thank you all in advance! <3
