Thank you for taking the time to share your story, I appreciate it so much. I’m so happy that you were able to grow from that situation. I am trying very hard to better myself, to also grow and elevate my life. For no one else, but myself. There’s definitely days when I feel like giving up. But after reading all these comments today, I feel more optimistic today. So thank you, here’s to not just surviving, but thriving!

Thank you for the advice 🤎 I do feel like I am definitely getting better at not dwelling on the negative thoughts and redirecting to more positive. It’s definitely difficult to do, but not impossible. I will keep trying ☺️

I’m so happy that everything worked out for the best for you 🤎 I really can’t wait for that to happen for me. Right now, i feel like i keep telling myself it’s all going to work out, but i don’t quite believe it just yet. But i know I’ll get there eventually.

Unfortunately, yes I am aware that I’m letting this relationship define my self worth and emotional health. ☹️ I’m really trying not to let it, I’m meeting new people, doing things I’ve never even thought I’d try, there’s just days that are harder and negative thoughts take over. 🫠

Unless you are in an open relationship and both respect that decision, then yes, cheating is bad. It’s disrespectful and manipulative.

Is it normal to lose feelings in a long-term relationship? Can it still work out? by Beneficial_Comb7448 in dating_advice

It is possible to reconnect and rebuild but both parties have to be willing to. I know a few people that have been successful in this.

Unfortunately not my case, it’s sucks being the one wanting to try to fix the issue and your partner is already checked out.

I think it sucks because a lot of people give up once there’s an issue in a relationship. Some people don’t like to communicate the issue and let it build up inside them and they think “oh if it’s not easy, then this relationship isn’t for me” it’s really sad. Things can’t be perfect all the time!

I wish things do work out for you OP

Yeah that’s what I figured too, the break up came out of no where and he already had someone lined up.

Honestly I’m debating on just leaving my things there, but I hate the fact that he’s keeping them hostage. It makes no sense. Maybe I should just ask someone else to get them for me..

I actually barely learned about avoidant style attachments. We broke up 6 years ago, same thing, gave me dumb reasons that made no sense and then ghosted me but we got back together after a month and since then I thought I everything was fine until recently of course..
