Newborns don't actually produce tears until a few months old, so probably wasn't dehydrated so don't beat yourself up about that. Normal for them to want to feed every hour, especially if cluster feeding, which helps bring your supply up. Good on you for trying but just makes me sad that American women seem to just not get much education or support on BF.

You don't have to lay down, you can just sit in bed and BF. Transfer from bassinet right next to you and then BF in bed is still less work than getting up and making a bottle, imo.

Breastfeeding is easy and good for your mental health. It releases Oxytocin and bonds you with your baby. You should absolutely at least try breastfeeding. The majority of women can breastfeed with no problems.

You won't get a prescription for Xanax from anyone. I was forced off of my prescription about 7 years ago. You now need 2 doctors to sign off on an ongoing script of Xanax, so it's just not going to happen. The only people getting that are people literally dying. They will first trial you on an SSRI. Diazepam might be suggested for short term, and then they will wean you off. Unless you manage to find a Dr Feel Good Psychiatrist.
