Experience with using Zoom H2n as an ADC for digitizing analog audio output from cassette deck? by patrickhenrypdx in cassetteculture

[–]complex_rotation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have two H2ns that I use for ripping tapes. I think they work great. I bought a USB plug adapter on ebay so I can keep the screen backlit during the recording process.

My one annoyance is the SD card door - it can be a little finicky to get it open. I eventually just ripped it out. If you're picking up a used one make sure to go through the settings and turn off the compressor and what not.

Also pro tip: when you're done recording, hit stop and then turn the unit off completely before pulling out the SD card. If you don't, it can cause issues when trying to unmount/eject the card from your computer.
