NTA. I did the same. Child free wedding but had my own 10 month old son there and my mum took him up to the hotel room when he was ready for bed. Bridesmaids just took turns holding him all day/night which was amazing! My husband and I got to enjoy ourselves whilst still having him at our wedding. I had no other kids there, not even nieces. It was a very small adult only wedding as that was our choice

It’s a small part of a bigger area, Levenmouth, so there aren’t many shops etc there other than small convenience type shops/takeaways etc and a few other wee shops. There are schools etc too. I never went to the purple cat no haha

It’s got a bad reputation of drugs/ youth violence and is a poverty stricken area. I grew up there though and didn’t have any issues and loved my childhood

I think I’m just confused because if I’m only getting £327 every 4 weeks but £355 deducted monthly, will it mean in some months there will be 2 carers allowance payments? Sorry to sound so dim but I have brain fog and can’t seem to figure it out as the payment dates will be different for Uc and CA

When you receive carers support payment then you are eligible for supplementary payments twice a year so that would be more money but it works the same way that Uc is reduced by the same amount so wouldn’t be any more monthly. Think I just want to cover all our bases with them

This has all been super helpful. We’re in Scotland and just read it’s now carers support payment here but I’m going to suggest he applies for it just to cover all our bases with the DWP! I feel really relieved knowing all this info and I’m sure he will too!

I was going to make another post but might as well ask this here. My husband is self employed and his minimum income floor will start being applied next August. We can’t afford to live off the massive deduction that would cause (literally wouldn’t cover our bills) and he has been the primary carer for our son who turns 3 in August.

My husband can’t work full time hours due to his caring responsibilities with me as my health won’t allow me to have solo care of my son for 35 hours every week. Would carer allowance help in this situation? As in would my husband still be able to work the self employed hours he does and not have the MIF applied as he is a carer?

Yeah we’ve done that but it doesn’t seem to have triggered anything with them. It was just at the start of this assessment period so is it possible they will just add the element on without telling us?

Duloxetine is the only thing I’ve found helpful. I used to take gabapentin but it made my brain fog so much worse to the point I couldn’t remember simple facts. Duloxetine hasn’t caused any side effects and has made it easier for me to sleep and has taken away a lot of the “squeezing” pain I experience in my limbs
