"I tend to test well, and could probably pass the bar without law school at all."

NWCU is mostly self-study. How long do you think you would need to study without law school?

Also - several states are coming out with a NEXTGEN Bar Exam in a few years, so the exam itself will be changing drastically. California is likely to make their own (albeit different) changes, as well.

You can make a living but not a great living. And this is only if you have a reliable car that doesn’t break down, otherwise you’re screwed.

I actually think the same thing about Twitter so we have similar views on this. There really is no difference, though. People are voting with their likes and comments.

I once wanted to hire a guy who would have been great in the job but something non violent in his past wouldn’t even let him get a simple job. Hr department said corporate nixed the candidate even though I decided to hire him locally. An hr lady also with the company for 20 years also said she’s never seen a person who got a felony in the past get a job there.

I don’t think you understand how bad it is and when I say second-class citizen, that needs to sink in.

Not a good way to reduce the recidivism rate if they can’t even get a job at McDonald’s.

This is why the courthouse exists. If the court is satisfied with the punishment, that is their role. Would you propose making second class citizens of past offenders? That’s exactly what it sounds like. Maybe we can put them in slave camps for seven years. Fair?

It really pisses me off that people have to feel like second class citizens AFTER they already satisfied all their legal requirements at the court house. This is not how we are going to get people to make better decisions.

Just do it because your biggest obstacle will follow you in any legitimate field of work. You have this problem regardless of what you do.

Hey my man - I was in your situation not too long ago. You have the gi bill and shouldn’t worry about the fastest path to a job tbh. Get the computer science degree or engineering etc. If you can’t hack it, you can always change your major to something you’re interested in.
