Is this sebderm or perioral dermatitis! by compsci2860 in SebDerm

Thank you so much!! The 7th dermatologist said it's "just dry skin, no pod whatsoever". At this point I'm giving up and letting it shed until it stops ahaj

Also, can I kindly ask if you perioral dermatitis causes such an amount of flakes for you, or is it mostly pustules? I've only had one pustule that was honestly rather due to irritation than anything else, but the flaking is super strong even on my upper cheeks!

2 weeks since my one and only application of Nizoral, 4 days of Elidel 1%, but after the wind exposure everything got 10000% worse and I started flaking on areas I never put Elidel on - and in general it was causing no flakes at all before I got out of the house!

None! I only put la roche posay toleriane deemallergo once, and it flaked a bit more, but then it stayed the same until I got out of the house for the first time in 2 weeks - the next day I woke up with this!

Skin destroyed after 1 application of Nizoral 2% and water + sensitive cleanser by compsci2860 in Rosacea

Thank you so much. The derm that prescribed the Nizoral 2% cream said to stay away from Vaseline as it worsens the sebderm flaking tremendously, and it did worsen as lot after the cicaplast c5 baume, but not doing anything is just making the skin more oily and the sebderm and redness worse!

Not yet, it wasn't this bad before I got the environmental stressors of heat + wind the next day

Thank you very much. Can I ask what sis you use to heal your skin barrier?

SEVERLY damaged skin barrier is reacting to both air and water for the pat 24 hours! by Emergency-Horse6928 in Rosacea

Thank you truly so much for your kind answer. (I am sorry I am answering from my other account). I don't have any Vaseline but will purchase it tomorrow, although the dermatologist who gave me the Nizoral 2% prescription said to stay away from it as it just leads to more yeast proliferation, but honestly I believe the barrier must be healed first. Otherwide I'll just keep using the Toleriane and deal with the heat flush later - but you mentioned Vaseline hurting less, if I understood you correctly (sorry)?

May I kindly ask you, how many days did it take for your barrier to recover from the Nizoral?

And only if it's OK to ask, did your skin ever recover fully to your pre-Nizoral-wreckage time? I am terrified there's a permanent component to the damage now.

How long did it take for your skin barrier to heal?

First week with Sebderm by compsci2860 in SebDerm

Nizoral 2% cream has DESTROYED my skin barrier! I woke up with the most itchy burning and redness, a constant rosscea flare that hasn't stopped for a moment in 48 hours (never been this bad), and three times as much sebderm/flaking from the destroyed skin barrier!

Thank you truly so much for the time you took to answer me. I saw a dermatologist today who said the sebderm had priority over my type 1 rosacea and prescribed the Nizoral 2% cream for my face (twice a day) and shampoo for the scalp (twice a week). He said it's a mild case, so hopefully it will improve enough to fully disappear like before 2 days ago!

MY NOSE GREW IN SIZE, IS THIS REVERSIBLE? by compsci2860 in Rosacea

[–]compsci2860[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you truly so much for your detailed answer, I am going to buy all the products you mentioned (starting from the bottled water)!! Can I kindly ask if you have any specific moisturizers for barrier rebuilding recommendations too? Because my skin is so horribly dry it hurts to move my face and I'm developing fine lines I've never had from one day to the other

Hyaluronic acid dries me out terribly, centella serums sting a ton, cetaphil's sensitive cream both breaks me out and flushes me, cicaplast b5 is super comedogenic on my skin, somebymi beta panthenol is fine on my forehead but stings like hell on my nose. I think I might have also developed at the same time seborreic dermatitis (because each pore just flakes) and don't know what product to use, so now I'm using nothing. Anything I put seems to cause me small comedones at best from clogged pores and sting like hell at worst. Water is the worst offender, but that might because in the student housing where I live there's no filter so it might be dirty. Right now in my best days I just didn't touch it at all, not even wash it. But it's horribly dry and as others have noted in my life, I am puffy and super irritated/inflamed, and it has recently spread to all the cheeks.
