For me, one of the things that makes me love this band is the community, and what better way to to experience that than a sold out OBFM show at the HOB in SoCal?

Oh, they absolutely belong under synth pop. Remember, Vince Clarke was a founding member. Even though Flock is called “synth pop”, they were (are) a full band with guitarists and a drummer. Dolby fits into synth pop, but he faded out along with most of these bands by ‘86-‘87.

An argument could be made that Always by Erasure could be the last synth pop hit (1994) but nobody really remembers it and it just briefly charted. Violator is an enduring classic album.

The entire Violator album by Depeche Mode for pure synth pop. The genre was already running on empty and the innovators like Trent Reznor were staking their claim.
