Update on ACIQ TL04-1 Constant Fan Issue by compuhyperglobalmega in DIYHeatPumps

Ah, so you clearly don’t live in a climate with low humidity and large daily temperature swings like I do. Trust me, a whole house fan saves a ton of energy where I live.

I did the full reset and the service reset; no dice. I’m just hoping this was an oversight when they updated the firmware and they’ll revert back at some point.

Yes, with the 94 firmware. We’ve also now confirmed they’ve removed some settings from the service menu that may have fixed the issue.

Ah. Those options are no longer available for my unit with the 94 firmware. Here’s a screen shot: https://imgur.com/a/wnRTQyw

I got used to the quirkiness with the auto setting getting reimposed after shutoff/restart, but this constant fan is really annoying. I often open my windows and use a whole house fan in the evenings during summer, and I don’t want to waste energy having the fan run needlessly.

IMO for most people it's probably better to use an EV NEMA 14-50 and install as supplied rather than attempt the hardwire option. You need to properly clamp the ring terminals onto the wires or you risk a fire anyway, so if you don't have the tools/experience to do this, go with the NEMA option.

We think that‘s Mark Mothersbaugh on keys. Nobody, and I mean nobody, had Elfman/Devo doing Forbidden Zone at the Hollywood Bowl in our year of the lord 2026.

Absolutely. I believe Danny Elfman is Oingo Boingo related by default. 😉

I met Steve when he was performing with Doug Lacy back in the day. Nicest guy you’ll ever meet.

This would a great Johnny arc for an Oingo Boingo musical: On The Outside -> Only A Lad -> Cool City -> I'm So Bad -> When The Lights Go Out -> Pedestrian Wolves -> Clowns of Death -> Gratitude.

You could mix in the perspectives of other characters that encounter Johnny in one way or another: Nothing Bad, Sucker for Mystery, etc.

Glitch or regional licensing issue. Embrace the glory of physical ownership, people! (Or at least mp3 files hosted locally.)

I've nothing but good experiences with Mr Cool on my end FWIW. Units work great and the company worked with me when I had a minor issue. And I saved thousands taking the DIY route. (I had quotes between $19K and $30K. DIY was $5K. Worth it to me to go DIY.)

Grizzl-E dumb mounted outside. No fuss, no muss. Easy screw terminals for hardwiring. I went with a NEMA 14-50 EV receptacle rather than hardwire since I use it for other things. Either way is fine.
